"I had 4 quotes before I worked with Jose from Master Gutters. Other companies either would not follow up, refused a smaller job, or would only work with insurance. Jose was consistently prompt. Jose communicated well throughout the process. Jose was flexible and his pricing reflects strong value. The craftsmanship of his team was great and the cleanup was complete. I wish his company did more than gutters/siding because I definitely have more jobs for Jose."

"I worked with Michael Cho, he was very helpful on every step of my gutter project. He was also very helpful on selecting the right colors for the fascia and gutters. It was a pleasure doing business with Northshore Gutter and Glass; I would hire Northshore again if needed. Thanks Michael!!"

"Roy did a fantastic job cleaning our gutters. We live in an area that has a ton of trees so we need to have our gutters cleaned often. He was extremely professional, communicated well, and I felt gave his honest views and feedback related to my questions. He took pictures of the work prior to starting and then after to show the quality of work. I would 100% recommend to anyone."

"I had a fantastic experience with Ultimate Gutter. They repaired my old gutters and installed new ones on the back of my house. The team was professional, punctual, and left no mess behind. The gutters look great, and I no longer have water pooling near my foundation. Highly recommend for anyone needing gutter repairs or installation!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $150 to $500, depending on the damage and length of gutter needing repair.

The average cost to install or replace gutters is around $2,000, with typical project costs ranging from $900 to $7,000. Most companies charge between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The total price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the complexity of its footprint, the gutter material (e.g., vinyl, metal), and the gutter style (e.g., half-round, custom-built). Additional elements like downspouts, corners, and optional add-ons like gutter guards can also increase the price. The condition of your roof is another consideration, as new gutters cannot be installed on a rotting or sloping roof. While it can be an expensive upfront cost, new gutters are a worthwhile, long-lasting investment for protecting your home's exterior. You can save up to half on labor costs by installing them yourself.

Absolutely—and lots of it. Overflowing water from your gutters can damage your siding and your roof. All of the moisture getting into the cracks and crevices of your home can lead to mold or mildew problems down the line. In addition, when water pools around your home, it needs a place to go—and sometimes it ends up inside the house, creating a very unwanted flood.

On average, gutters need to be replaced every 20 years. Unprotected gutters in more extreme weather conditions are more prone to breaking and may need to be replaced sooner. Meanwhile, proper maintenance can extend your gutter’s life span even further. That said, proper installation, gutter hangers to provide additional support, and gutter guards or helmets all play an important role in how long your gutters last.

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.
