Located in Creve Coeur, IL we serve all of central Illinois. Locally owned and operated, we have unclogged everything from bathtubs clogged with hair to main sewers with tree roots as large as a man's leg. "I was really concerned that he was unfit to work. When he showed up I asked him how it was going and he said "It's to early to tell". He could barely walk and clearly had a back or other health issue. He did get the drain unclogged. The toilet he removed to clean the drain out was not reinstalled correctly. It had wax coming out everywhere from the ring and only two of four bolts were put back on. The toilet wasn't even flat with the floor, it was at an angle. Our bathroom looked like a sewer water bomb had gone off. It took a whole afternoon to clean up. He broke the cast iron clean out screw plug and put a new plastic plug on that leaked everywhere and I had to replace a few days later. He was in so much pain and not fit to work that he did just the bare minimum. I would not recommend hiring him."

Baking soda does very little to nothing for a septic tank, but it can help unclog a drain or clean out a garbage disposal. Rotten tomatoes and yeast are the best ways to increase the bacteria in your septic tank naturally. You can add these to your system once every three months.

Septic tanks and cesspits are both types of sewage and wastewater systems, but they differ in key ways. The main difference between the two systems is that septic tanks separate sewage from wastewater and allow the latter to flow into a drainage field to filter and disperse into the soil. Cesspits don’t have outlets and instead, store sewage until it needs to be pumped by a professional.

Leach lines are commonly made of PVC pipe, and they’re placed into trenches filled with gravel and sand, which help treat the wastewater. The PVC pipes are perforated, or drilled with small holes, so the wastewater can drain out of the pipes and into the surrounding material, which eventually leads to the aquifer.

Think of a leach field and septic tank as the peanut butter and jelly of wastewater management. They go together. However, it is possible to have a septic tank without a leach field, as some types of septic systems don't require them. For example, your home may have a septic mound rather than a leach field or a sand filtration system, instead.
