"Job: install fan and switch for it in spot with no electrical box yet. 1 hr 56 min arrival to departure. Pros: Called me the next day after reaching out through Angie. Friendly to talk to during booking and while working at the house. The work went well nstalling the ceiling fan and a switch for it where one wasn't. Cons: Never quoted job (figured it couldn't be that bad for a fan install so didn't ask - big mistake) and appointment was a month out for 7:30am on a Friday. Informed them I worked nights at the time of booking. They text me at 6am that day to inform they'd ould be late and arrived at 9:46a (I'm 25 hrs awake at the point they arrive). Invoice for $737 comes across. Inquired about the $300 for labor for one and $375 for labor for the other and was told "We usually charge round trip, and I only charged you one way. And there was no existing switch or fan location,if it was as simple as just changing a fan out there would have only been one". Double labor charge unfair."

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. Once somebody actually did speak with me, they were very responsive. They were pretty professional when I spoke to them. I just think that they were light on manpower."

"Very professional...both the owner and crew. Careful and meticulous work. Replaced some wood trim that was damaged; moved the heavy furniture...painted a 2-story stairway. Good clean-up each day. And good follow-up on punch list items. Halfway through the project we decided we wanted some additional items painted (powder room and 2 closets...and they fit it into the schedule and the added charge was very reasonable.

What impressed me most was the owner caught some issues that I had missed in punch list items. Increased my confidence in his ability to do a good job. He cares about the quality of his and his crew's work.

"It went well and it looks nice and neat at first sight . I did not notice all the cords bunched up next to the mantle until after the technician left. That does not look so nice. It is on the far corner and is not noticeable when walking into the room, but is very noticeable when on that side. It is something I will have to deal with ."

"     In order to complete to layout design I submitted a drawing of the room as well as a series of photos.  The website for Homemade design has a questionaire what helps define your overall tastes in design.  I joined Pinterest and started boards for furniture, lighting, bookshelves which were reviewed.  Homemade design comes to New York periodically to meet with clients not in the Boston area and this gave us a chance to meet and select furniture and upholstery at the New York Design center.  This is an extra charge but well worth it since I was completely overwhelmed.  They were extremely patient and guided me through the process.  At one point I decided to move the television which turned out to be a bad idea -- they explained why it would not worked and I concurred competely after I understood the reasons.  So, they are not afraid to tell you if you going down the wrong road. I live in a New York City townhouse and forget that I do not have a whol lot of space even though my house is huge for NYC. So, I had to be told how to "scale" everything to the space we had to work with, which was helpful
I purchased the service several months ago but was not ready to actually decide on the actual purchases until recently. So, the delay in completion is because of my schedule.  I now hope to finish everything by September.

My wife and I have used World Painting several times over the last four years in two different houses.  The most recent project was a complete makeover of the outside of our home.  We consulted with the World Painting staff on the design (two tones) and the proper colors to use.  We are very happy with the outcomes; both the appearance and the quality of workmanship.

"I sent the money and dimensions in in November 2011.  She responded back very quickly, informed me that she was very busy and wouldn't be able to start on my project for a couple of weeks.  I actually responded that that was fine.  After a month or so with no contact, i emailed.  She emailed  right back, apologized and asked for some more measurements.  I sent them.  Didn't hear anything, when in response to inquiry, she asked again for living room measurements-- that was Feb. 3rd.  On Feb. 20th, I emailed and asked for timeline.  She responded back the next day with 3 designs asking for my preference.  I emailed back on the 22nd of Feb with my preference.  On March 16th, I inquired again as to timeline for completion. Two weeks later she sent a concept board with some furnishings.  No window coverings or lights were suggested.  Three were multiple rugs with no direction of which one for each room.  All and all, not a pleasant experience.  I suspect I could have gotten better service using Pottery Barn's free design service (especially since most of the furnishings came from there.)"

"It was very good. I was pleased with what they did."
