I have been involved in trades since the early 1990's. I returned to college, at the age of 32, to earn a degree in trade sciences and received a B.S. in 2005. The roof panels look much nicer than i had anticipated. The Tesla panels on the side of the house look very nice. My sales rep / energy consultant (Rock Wiley) I cant say enough about. Extremely knowledgeable & professional kept me informed throughout the entire process. Was always available to answer questions & was on site periodically the day of installation. Walked me through setting up & understanding the apps. I had looked at solar energy companies for a couple years but wanted a local company as i do with all home projects & am glad I waited. My wife & I are super pleased with the entire experience & have several friends & family member getting an install. . Attached is a pic of my last year of Ameren bills. The last 2 are with SUNRUN .The $20 was my first full month. "

Leaving an exhaust fan on constantly isn’t ideal. While it helps remove moisture and odors, continuous use will lead to wear and tear, higher energy costs, and even fire risks if the motor overheats. Bathroom fans should run for 20 to 30 minutes after a shower, while kitchen exhaust fans should be used only when cooking or clearing air.

Installation generally takes 2 to 4 hours, depending on the home structure, electrical characteristics, and attic access ease.

You’ll find the backdraft damper near the top of the range hood (where it connects to the ductwork). However, some range hoods also have a second damper, which is located close to the roof or exterior wall where the ductwork ends. If you don’t see a damper in either of these places, you might not have one.

Most installations take 3-6 hours, but complex electrical wiring or additional attic ventilation work may extend the timeframe.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.
