"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.
"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

CP has been providing quality home warranty products since 1998.
"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"Terrible! Only used Chambers because Whirlpool sent them my service request. Had to leave my mom with tech in so I could return to work, so I wasn't even there to find out what was wrong BUT told him to call me when he knew something. I got vague blurb of the problem and my mom saying he said he broke something on the unit!? Took 3 days and me calling office twice before tech finally called me! And NOWHERE on the paperwork does it state that HE caused more damage to the unit than the original problem!"

Cordts Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. is a family owned and operated business that has been serving the Pekin, Illinois, area since 1975 with exceptional customer service. Our experts provide residential and commercial customers with professional installation and maintenance of high efficiency furnaces, air conditioners, geothermal heat pumps, air purifiers, air filters, and humidifiers. Plus, we're equipped for custom sheet metal fabrication and installation.
"I cannot sing the praises of Cordts Heating and Air loud enough. Our old furnace crashed right before a cold wave hit. Not only did Cordts give us the most fairly priced estimate for the work, but they made the installation "urgent" and had the system installed in our home less than 2 days after Brad came to give the estimate. The crew was professional, courteous, and did a FANTASTIC job installing the new system. The house was toasty warm within a couple hours after they finished the installation and testing of the system. We are very pleased with the entire experience and will be recommending Cordts to anyone who's having an issue with their heating/cooling system."

"Not good do not use for this check-up. The same guy came over at the beginning of the heating season and at the beginning of the air season. Really doesn't do anything just opens up the unit and checks for 10 minutes and leaves. Doesn't even say much about the units condition. Save your money. A complete waste of time. Would not use them for repairing either system since they haven't shown me they care about the service they give. This happened over a year ago and I have since needed service on my air conditioning unit."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts
A window AC unit is not completely silent. You’ll hear the sound of air blowing, and if you put your ear right up next to the unit, you may hear a slight hiss or gurgle as the refrigerant flows through the system. That said, if your system is making a running water sound, a loud banging sound, a grinding sound, or physically vibrating, you may be facing an issue or malfunction with your AC unit.
Some HVAC systems tend to use R410A refrigerant, although if you have an older model it may be using R22. R22 is banned due to its harmful environmental and health impacts, and it is a sign that your AC unit is old enough to consider a replacement and the significant efficiency gains that could come with it.
To find a reputable HVAC company, start by finding providers in your area that have mostly positive reviews online. Next, check the Better Business Bureau’s website for customer complaints. Some states and municipalities require technicians to be licensed, so you should rule out companies that aren’t. Finally, contact each professional and ask for per-hour pricing, contract availability, and references to call. You can also ask if they have worked on your particular system brand in the past to confirm that they’re qualified.
The length of an AC cycle depends on the settings in your thermostat and the unit you have. Central AC doesn't constantly run at full blast the way that a window unit does. A cooling cycle in most homes is 15 to 20 minutes. Then, the unit stays off for seven to 10 minutes to circulate the cold air in the house before the cycle repeats. It should repeat two or three times per hour. A short cycle lasts less than 10 minutes and then turns off.
Electrical components, such as inspecting fuses and wiring
Complete system services, like flushing the drain line
While you can DIY some aspects, like changing your air filter, it’s imperative that you call in a pro to inspect your AC for you. Your air conditioner has refrigerant that could be hazardous to your health if not handled properly, so it’s best to let a pro with experience take on this job.
