Had a great overall experience with Illinois Energy, from the time we talked to the salesman to the install itself. Everyone was knowledgeable, professional, on-time and friendly. Also there prices are hard to beat. I would definitely recommend them and look forward to doing business with them in the future

They did a great job with our new front window install! Their sales rep was informative, and all of their customer service reps were friendly. Even when our window install was delayed due to shipping, they kept us informed the entire time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Berg Roofing and Home Improvements

The job could not have gone any better. I had used Berg for roofing and siding in the past, when I lived in Westmont. I moved to the far South suburbs over a year ago. It took this cold winter to realize how bad my windows were in this 113 year old home. I was thrilled when I called Berg and found out that they performed work in my area. I was able to deal with the same salesman I used in the past. He came out, measured my windows, and gave me an estimate on site. I did get other estimates. I found Berg to be very competitive in their pricing. Since I was already familiar with the quality of workmanship, it was an easy choice. Because of the weather, and the fact that I placed the order during the holidays, it took a while to get the work done. However, about one month after placing the order, I have all new beautiful windows with no air leaks. They installed the windows quickly. The workers were polite and very conscious of the cleanliness of my home. I could not be happier!!! I will need a new roof and new siding on my home in the future. I will be sure to give Berg a call. Excellent Job!!

The window itself is very nice but the finishing on the wall over the window doesn’t look nice. It looks like they used half an inch dry wall for the window. The drywall looks thicker than the rest of the room. The people came in and got it done in one day. The window lightens up the room. They just do windows where structures aren’t required now. As far as the windows and workmanship is concerned, I was very happy with them. They weren’t the cheapest but were worth the price

They were excellent. The installers were brilliant. We had some issues; there were some scratches; but they came back out immediately and fixed it.

I normally do not write a review on a product or company. This company, however, has pushed the limits of my patience. I cannot believe the number of mistakes that were made just in our order alone, not to mention the horrible follow up to finish the work. In February 2022, we had Windowz 4 Less come out and install new windows in all the windows in our home. We also had both front and back door as well as our sliding glass door replaced. They also installed gutters around our entire house (which now leads me to question the workmanship on those, but we will get to that in a minute). It was freezing and there was snow on the ground. They installed all the windows in two days and worked with me to work in areas my child and I were not in so we could stay warm. During the look around to check things with one of the workers, it was noted that one of the windows (the ledge used to close it by) was broken. I was told that pictures were taken and that they knew it was broken out of the box, and that a new window piece would be ordered and installed as soon as possible. During the work on the second day, the workers removed our sliding glass door to prep to replace it (that day with the new one) only to find out that the door was originally measured/ordered incorrectly. We were then informed later that we would owe an extra $400 dollars for a special-order door. Shouldn’t that have been noticed before they had removed the existing door? After a long debate, they company agreed to split the additional cost with us. Now, if we would have known before the work started that the door would have been extra, we would have had no issues with paying the extra fee. The door was REMOVED before they noticed it wasn’t the right one. I’m sorry, but to me, that fault lies completely on the company. After they had left, I noticed that one of the window screens were also torn from being installed. A worker fixed it, only to have it not fixed properly and have to be fixed again. Now, as I mentioned, it was snowy on the ground, but the mess that was left of screws/nails and pieces of plastic from removal and replacement of the windows remained all around the house. There was even the insulation foam in a large spot in the snow (where they knew we have dogs that go outside) where they must have discharged the bottle to “open” it. I also noticed large gaps under our downstairs windows with light that could be seen coming through. Oh, and to top everything else off, our front door was installed “upside down” because the wrong door was ordered for that and still installed. We were told a new door would be ordered and installed. After they had finished the work, I received a phone call asking me to pay for the work. The price was negotiated between what work they did and what work there was left to do, and I wrote a check. During this phone call, I was also asked to give a review on google in which I declined, stating all the issues we have, until the work was completed. Let us now fast forward to June. We had to call them since we have received no follow ups for them to come back to fix what needs to be fixed/complete the job. The front door, sliding door, and 2nd window screen replacement are to be performed. The broken on install window though, well that was ordered wrong or they were not told to bring it- honest I don’t remember the excuse for this one. Before the work was actually done, we received a call requesting that payment be made for the rest of the work (minus a couple hundred dollars until the window is fixed). The day they came to perform the work, the manager/supervisor/team lead to the work crew did everything he could to assure I was happy with their work. He made sure the front door (new one) was installed properly, fixed the window screen, installed the sliding glass door, and even repaired the gaps that were left under our downstairs windows. He even went around the house picking up the reminder of the mess that was left that we had not picked up yet (there were many times my husband spent at least an hour picking things up and it would look like he didn’t even touch what was there). When they left that day, I sent to full remainder of what we owed back with them. It is now September and we had to contact the company again about the broken window that was never replaced. We have been told that the window must have been mislabeled and was used on another job. The job is now 8 months into the workings and has yet to be fully completed. Their latest call (later in the day) was to tell me that the “sash” for the window (the broken piece/half of the window) has been ordered, but they do not know when it will be in and will call to set up a time for install once it arrives. This is the same thing we heard every time. We have reached November! We have discovered that one of our windows leaks when it rains against it. My husband called to set up a time for them to come look at and inspect it. The sash is still not here but the crew did fix the leaking window and addressed the issue we had with our sliding door. They even went around and checked the other windows for any defects in the caulking and fixed the ones needing attention. The manager of the crew of the crew is this company’s saving grace. If it wasn’t for him and his attention to pleasing the customer, going above and beyond what he probably would have to do to guarantee we are satisfied. December and no updates on having the one window “sash” come in. Also, there are drafts coming through every window. Granted, we live out in the country, and it gets extremely windy, but there should be no unwanted airflow with BRAND NEW WINDOWS and DOORS! I don’t remember having any draft in our old home and those windows were at least 20 years old. The “fix”- we were told that the windows had to be “adjusted” because they had “shrank” in the extreme cold of the winter and the frame/sides had to be adjusted in to fit the “moving” pieces of the windows better/more snug. They also said that they would put some more insulation into the spaces. This caused the workers to have to re-caulk the windows which now look patchy. (We also have a ripped screen that is not their fault, but you would think would have been fixed, since they were doing work on that window, due to all the other issues we have had with them) January 26, 2023- still no word on the window sash and almost a full year since install. Now a year later, we have not received an itemized bill showing what exactly we paid for (only the quote), no apologies from anyone other than the worksite manager, no updates on the piece that was broken on install, and follow-up after the first one requesting a review. For any statement I have made, I will be glad to provide pictures (and even videos) for proof. I can also show the cashed checks (first check given- 11-9-21, signed with a written deposit only- and the other checks were stamped with the JPMorgan Chase Bank stamp 2-2-22, 6-27-22) proving that I am a customer. This company only wants your money and does not care about the customer after they are paid. Even the parts that we were pleased with are losing their luster due to all of the other issues, time, and effort on our part to get things the way they should have been to being with. Every time we have had to have work performed, we have to be home. This disrupts our workdays. Thank goodness I work from home or I would be even more irate at having to lose pay to be home for all of these visits. This still disrupts my workday, but at least I am still able to work with some inconveniences

Overall we are pleased with the installation and quality of windows. They were by far the best quality windows we found for the price. We gave them a B rating overall because we are waiting to hear back in regards to an issue with the patio door that my husband wanted taken care of. The workers who installed the windows did a good job, worked hard and the windows look great

"One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date.

"I needed six new windows and a storm door replaced...and all were long overdue projects. I got three estimates. Tom from Capa was the third (and the quote was in the middle of the three), but I felt WAY better about dealing with him than anyone else. Tom did not try to upsell me into an expensive brand. One company insisted I have entirely new windows....no inserts. Tom did not agree. Tom told me that "we'll take care of you" and was as good as his word. The company is honest and works hard to please you. On installation day, three men arrived and installed all 6 windows and the storm door in one day. They took pride in their work and were extremely hard workers. I HIGHLY recommend Capa. They are good, honest people.

"Ken Kirchner, the owner, checked on our foundation. The insurance adjuster told me we may have a crack in the foundation. After evaluation our foundation, Ken told me there were no cracks in our foundation. Our plumber told me there was a water pipe problem. Ken video taped the location the water was coming in our family room. After viewing the video, our insurance adjuster told me we had a valid claim. Ken and Family Waterproofing Solutions did not charge me for his service.
