"installers were great, let us know the status every day, they did an excellent cleanup job and got finished earlier than estimated. The floor is beautiful. We were return customers as we used Garrys at a previous home to refinish wood floors and would use them again for floor or carpet jobs."

"Exceptional professionalism, artistry, talent and skill. I searched and interviewed three different tile installers before meeting Lalo, and all were overwhelmed by the task of working around a pre-installed mural in our kitchen. The cuts needed to be meticulous and perfect to fit around the frame of the mural and then into the stone hood surrounding it. Lalo came to our initial meeting with samples in hand to assist me in choosing the right color of travertine. The day of install he arrived early and began working as my family and I dispersed for the day. That evening I came home to the most exquisite frame and backsplash. PERFECTION!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Here’s another instance of where the answer is you could, but that doesn’t mean you should. Yes, part of the issue is getting the drywall to stay in place on the tiles, and it’s understandable that screws will crack the tiles and cause them to crumble. That’s why it’s a much better idea to screw drywall into studs, not your porcelain or ceramic tile. But aside from issues with attaching the drywall, it’s also about ensuring a smooth application without trapping moisture inside.

Using caulk is one of the simplest and most recommended methods to finish glass tile edges. It creates an elegant seam between the glass tile and the adjacent area, along with a waterproof seal. With this method, you want to use a caulk color that matches the grout and, along with the grout, compliments the tile. Make sure the caulk line is smooth and even. Alternatively, you can use a bullnose or tile trimming to edge, however, that will also require caulk to seal.

Impact, water infiltration, or shifting subfloors often cause damage. Regular inspections help prevent significant issues.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.

Tiling can be DIY with the right tools and skills, but challenges like ensuring evenness and appropriate adhesion often warrant professional handling.
