His assistant installed a high-quality chimney cap with a lifetime warranty. We are very happy to have that taken care of to guard against rodents, etc., getting in the house through the chimney. Although the assistant threw the old chimney cap in the yard and left it there, we are overall extremely pleased with A1 Chimney. "Anthony was spectacular. We had Top Hat out to inspect our three gas fireplaces and our chimneys. After removing the vermiculite and spent ash from the bottom of the fireplaces to clean and inspect, Anthony identified that prior to our purchase of the house the fireplaces had been improperly converted from wood to gas. One fireplace did not have a fire box, one fire box had been improperly installed and the third was made from gerry rigged materials that were not fit for purpose. One of the the black pipe connections was made without pipe dope/sealant. One fireplace had a crimped supply line. One fireplace had a 12" bar for a 24" fireplace which was intended to be a starter for a wood fire, not to be used to run a continous gas fireplace. All three posed CO2 hazards. Anthony photographed everything for us, fully explained the issues and remedied all. He was polite, thorough and efficient and fairly priced. Highly recommend Anthony and Top Hat!"
