"We had 2 bedrooms painted and they painting was completed in 2 days. The walls look great! All furniture was covered and patching was completed before painting began. All areas were completely cleaned up at the end of the day. We are very satisfied with the work. Eric and his crew were prompt, conscientious and demonstrated quality work. We would definitely recommend HPO Painting."

"Pro Painting and Restoration did a wonderful job. The price quote was very competitive. The interior painting of the ceilings, walls, baseboards, doors, trim, and door jambs turned out great. From sanding, to priming, to 2 coats of paint, it was all done correctly. I highly recommend this company."

Customers say: Quick response

"Have had two projects done with Jauch Painting, and with both projects have been beyond thrilled with the process, professionalism and results. First time was through our insurer after water had damaged our kitchen walls and cabinets. Dave, Dino and Jen, came in and took care of everything. Professional and patient with our questions and requests, made the year of dealing with insurance and contractors a distant memory, as they were beyond helpful and professional, making the room look better than had even before the damage. Enjoyed the experience so much, contacted Brian again, when we were looking to get our garage exterior as well as all of the wood trim on our two story painted and stained. Dave, Dino, Jack, David and Larry were just as incredible there as had been with the interior. Took care of everything, fixed some very rotten wood areas, and were amused by my duct tape repairs that they diligently fixed. Out of room, or I would write more, Highly recommend!"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

To remove paint from brick with vinegar, you can use the vinegar in much the same way you would paint stripper. However, vinegar needs significantly more time to soak into the paint. Apply the vinegar with a spray bottle, let it soak in, then scrub the paint's surface.

Yes, many professionals use non-toxic removers and dust-free sanding techniques.

Scrape softened caulk with a putty knife or slice hardened caulk with a utility knife. Hard-to-remove caulk generally requires more time exposed to a softening solution, like a commercial product or rubbing alcohol. A few hours to a day later, the softened caulk will come off with the help of common household tools. In many cases, you can grab needle-nosed pliers for caulk with multiple old layers and pull the material off its base.

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.

Yes, you can paint over old exterior paint, but success depends on the condition of the existing paint and proper surface preparation. If the previous coating is in good shape (not cracked, peeling, or flaky), you can paint over it with less prep work. However, for the most durable and professional-looking results, follow these key preparation steps:

  • Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the exterior to remove all dirt, grime, and mildew. A pressure washer can be very effective for this.

  • Scrape and Sand: If the old paint is peeling, cracked, or flaky, you must scrape off all loose paint. After scraping, sand the surface to create a smooth, even base for the new paint. Sanding is especially important for wood siding.

  • Apply Primer: Using a quality exterior primer is highly recommended. It ensures the new paint adheres properly, improves durability, and provides a uniform finish. If you are painting a lighter color over a dark one, a tinted primer will help cover the old color more effectively.

Some brands offer paint-and-primer-in-one products for convenience. Taking the time to prepare the surface properly will not only increase your home's curb appeal but also help protect your siding and extend its life.
