"Our A/C unit was giving us trouble and was the original unit from when the house was built along with the furnace. I called out 5 different companies to get quotes on replacing both A/C and the Furnace, Steve Bilica from Home Comfort Systems came out looked at what I had then came in and sat down with me and started to tell me about himself and his company which really made it more personal and made me feel more confident that I was hiring the right company for the job. Steve was up front and honest with me answered all my questions and gave me what I considered the best price out of all of the companies that came. Both Mike and Rich came out around 8:30 in the morning and were finished by 2 PM. Both Mike and Rich were very professional and respectful of our home, they laid down drop cloths to cover the stairs and on all carpet area's that they would be working which was very much appreciated. I highly recommend Home Comfort Systems Thanks Steve, I will be recommending him to everyone I know."

"We have been happy with All Temp Heating/Air Conditioning Inc.  Then they told us we needed a part, I think the part was like 600 dollars.  So we didn't know what to do.  Originally All Temp had installed the air conditioner.  The reason we didn't use All Temp is because the charge for servicing the air conditioner was more."

"I have been in construction for nearly 50 years, so I have developed a keen eye for quality craftsmanship. Our project was no small project, so there was a genuine concern that the right company be hired to do our project. After reading J T General Contracting's reviews, I reached out to Jim for an estimate. Again, as I stated earlier, I have been involved in construction for nearly 50 years, so when a contractor shows up for an estimate when he stated that he would, that is a good first step. In talking with Jim about our project, it didn't take long for me to realize that he knows what he is talking about and how our project should be approach. After interviewing two other contractors, it was a no brainer to go with J T General Contractors. Our project just completed today, and I can state that from the demolition of our existing deck, to the layout and installation of piers, Posts, Joists, Trex Composite Deck (with stairs and raised platform for the Spa) and composite Railings, I could not find one flaw in his workmanship. Jim takes a great deal of pride in the work that he is installing and demands that from his employees as well. Secondly, Jim has excellent communication skills, not only in responding to phone calls or text messages, but explaining what he will be doing each step of the way. I would have no problem referring J T General Contracting to family and friends and will be using Jim for our future projects."

"I was ready to cut the cable. I called a few companies and decided on Smart Tec. John offered a no obligation consultation and spent a great deal of time with me on the phone answering my questions. He is not only extremely knowledgeable, he is honest, respectful of your property and efficient. John set me up with everything I needed and took the time to be sure I was completely comfortable operating the new system. His pricing is very fair and competitive. I highly recommend John and Smart Tec. JK Vik"

"Tim was very into the details of the potential installation during the proposal process, which I appreciated. He gave his own advice for which models he thought offered the most bang for the buck, and explained the realistic advantages that we would achieve (or not), by going to higher-end components. This, coupled with a competitive proposal, is why we picked TR Miller for our new HVAC system. The install crew arrived on-time, and was very professional. The installation was clean and appears to be done well. Further more, it was nice to see the small details that Tim mentioned during the proposal process were done as promised, without me having to bug anyone. Based on this good experience, I plan to use TR Miller for my long-term servicing needs."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, designing builds to fit space constraints and meet functional needs.

Building designers charge between $2,000 and $50,000, depending on project scope, complexity, and customization.

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.

You can draw your own house plans using three-dimensional modeling software, but in most cases, you’ll need an architect to draw up the final plans. Architects understand local building regulations and requirements, so their plans will be necessary for getting permits approved, and they’ll also ensure your home is structurally sound. DIY house plans can be a good place to start to help visualize your project, but you should always defer to a professional before trying to proceed with the project.

Dark academia is more of an interior decorating style than it is a type of architecture, but it calls on themes prevalent in gothic architecture. Part of the appeal of dark academia is that you can achieve the look and feel without renovating or remodeling your home. Instead, you can switch to a dark color palette and introduce metal, natural wood furniture, plaid decor, old books, and gothic decor to get the look and feel just right.
