"Job done by this company for orofino weatherization was completely unacceptable and unprofessional, will never use this company for any job ever again. Copper lines kinked with leaks in line where kinked, wouldn't come back and repair without a trip charge being paid had to hire a professional company to fix these fly by nights screw-ups. Documented and pictures of this fiasco if you'd like to see this company's work!"

"I recently bought a rental property and within 3 weeks of closing I got a call from my tenant that her kitchen was flooded. I had my handyman take a look and he found that it was coming from a pipe in the foundation underneath the sink. He said a licensed plumber would have to fix it. I call pretty much every plumber in Sandpoint and they're all booked out 1-2 weeks. Nightmare scenario. I finally talk to Kris and he's got a busy schedule too but he says to me he'll stop by and take a look in between jobs the next day. He stopped by like he said and assessed the leak and said he could stop by the following day in the evening after another job and fix it. Sure enough, true to his word he fixed the leak and got my tenant's water back on. Can't recommend Kris enough. Don't know what I would've done if I hadn't found him."

Water heaters seldom ever burst, but when they do, you should know the warning signs to protect your home. The biggest sign that your water heater is about to burst is a sulfuric smell. If your home inexplicably smells like rotten eggs, then this could be an indication of a gas leak in your gas water heater. Replacement should be considered when repair costs exceed half the price of a new unit, if the heater is more than 10-15 years old, or if consistent issues hinder its effective functioning despite multiple repairs.

The average lifespan of a water heater is eight to 12 years. If your water heater is approaching its first decade of life and is giving you problems, talk to a plumber about your replacement options.

Keep in mind that certain parts of a water heater, such as the anode rod, may need replacement long before the heater itself. An anode rod often has a lifespan of three to five years.
