Unique is a full service window blind and shade business. We pride ourselves in our cleaning service and repair on all makes and brands, as well as offer parts and cording for "the do it yourselfers". We also do light commercial and motorization jobs.We offer a full line of all new windows treatments featuring Hunter Douglas, Graber, Lafayette, Norman, Blynco. We pride ourselves in not only our service, but we stand behind all the fabricators we utilize. Our shop and showroom located at 2147 South Centurion Place Boise, ID just east of Costco. We are open Monday through Friday 9:00-6:00. Come by and check our newly remodeled showroom!

I sent my dad to Unique Blinds of Idaho last November to purchase two custom outdoor privacy blinds for my cabin costing close to $1,000. My family has been customers of theirs since they were doing it out of their garage. We gave them specific dimensions and picked out a color from a small swatch. When we got the packaged blinds, we hauled them up to the cabin but set them aside since there was too much snow to hang them. We didn’t think we needed to double check their work since it’s always been perfect before. Come April, we finally got back to the cabin to hang the blinds. As we opened them, we noticed the color was not going to work, they were too light. We had needed a darker color to match the wood trim. We also found that one of the blinds had the wrong dimensions. So we hauled them back to town to see what can be done to correct the issues. When we went back to the store, they said it was what we ordered…so we asked to look at the order and noticed they had written down the size wrong on one of the blinds. The color was our mistake, it had looked much darker on the little swatch. They said they’d try to contact the manufacturer to see if they could give us a discount and sent us away with a new color swatch book. After spending time picking out a new color, they called to tell us that they gave us the wrong color swatch book. So we had to go back to the store to get the right one and pick out a new color. Once that was all said and done they said they’d try to see if they could give us a discount for their size mistake. We spent the last 6 weeks trying to call them and see what the status was. We even went in 3-4 times to see what was going on and got nowhere. They ignored our multiple calls and they seemed to put us off because they didn’t want to admit their size mistake. It was just taking too long to resolve our issues. We just got a call from the office manager who proceeded to tell us that the manufacture is unwilling to take the new hardware back to switch out the fabric. The manufacture also said they cannot adjust the size of one of the blinds that Unique Blinds made the size mistake on. The new blinds would cost more ($1,100) due to the new fabric that we picked out. After months of poor communication with us, the manufacturer’s refusal to work with us, Unique Blinds not making their wrong right, wasting our time and taking our money…it’s safe to say that we will NO LONGER BE CUSTOMERS of theirs. Such a disappointment. We wanted to use a local company, but from now on, we will use Blinds.com. They guarantee if you do not like the blinds, they will replace for free. I suggest looking elsewhere if you need custom blinds to avoid the hassle and wasted time and money my family has gone through.

They showed up on time, very quickly and carefully removed the blinds and took then to their shop for cleaning. When the blinds were finished they phoned us and returned with the well cleaned blinds. They quickly and carefully reinstalled the blinds checking the operation of the blinds before leaving. Through out they were very professional. We will have them back.

Ashley did a great job in offering options, getting a color to match the rest of our Graber blinds, and then installing them. The price was very reasonable and the work was top notice.

Perfectly! Ashley and Cole came and quickly took down the blinds and, within a few hours, had them back up, clean, restrung, and perfect! A delightful group of people to work with!

The blinds were picked up on time, cleaned and reinstalled. A great job! They were great to work with, very professional, and friendly. The cost was very economical, I will probably have the blinds cleaned more often in the future.

Phil arrived just a few minutes early. What a pleasant and personable individual!!! He got right to work and replaced all the cords in my honeycomb, blackout blind...not just the frayed cord. He performed the work right on the spot and I wasn't inconvenienced in any way by having to have the blind removed and then returned.

Phil and his daughter came to the house, measured the windows, had lots of great suggestions and left some samples with us. They were very professional and easy to work with. They gave us a quote soon after we notified them of our preferences and their price was comparable to some of the budget blind companies. The installation was only a few weeks later and it all went very well. We couldn't be happier.

Everything went like clockwork, as usual. Phil was early, and with his easy going and friendly manner got right to the job at hand. He is so competent and efficient that one doesn't have to be concerned about the outcome. He also hauled away without charge our old blinds. Arrived around 9:30 a.m. Was half hour late because of the lousy weather (snowing). That was actually sooner than I thought that he could make it. Phil put a towel down on the front stoop to catch the snow from being tracked into the house. He de-installed the blinds very quickly, within half an hour, and was gone with a promise to be back around 5:30 p.m. He returned around 6 p.m. because of both the snow and lousy traffic and re-installed the blinds within 30 minutes.
Should also mention that he replaced any cracked pulls and other parts that were deteriorating.
Was professional and timely. Would definitely use his service again, and highly recommend his services to others.

It is a 6 hour drive one way, and he even picked a coffee table I purchased up for me, and helped me put it together! His customer service is unmatched! Both myself and my daughter have very high ceilings, and Phil was able to take care of everything! He's installed blinds, delivered furniture for us, and he's absolutely excellent!

Great service and result. We needed approx. 20 honeycomb type blinds of various sizes cleaned. My call to request service was promptly returned and scheduling was easy. Phil, the owner, came to our house on time as scheduled and went right to work. He was very friendly and gladly explained the cleaning process and what we could expect. He brought the blinds back the same afternoon, re-hung everything and they looked great! Unique Blinds was able to provide me a quote that was half of the competitors price and I was happy to be able to support a local business!
