"Hiring Summit Epoxy Floors was a pleasure from start to finish. The sales guy, Mark, was awesome. Not "Sales - y" at all. He simply answered our questions. Mark did a thorough measuring of our garage and gave us a price...(not just an estimate.) The date was set for installation and in no time, we had a dream garage floor. The work crew hit some obstacles in clearing some old, awful linoleum. They had to add extra people to remove it. It took an extra day, but they did not charge us for the extra labor. Every single time I walk out into the garage, I have to smile. Summit's workmanship was flawless! You would not believe the "before" and "after." A total transformation. So Grateful."

"I asked them to come over and help me find a shade solution. Rich came right on time and evaluated the job and very honestly commented that I would probably not get as much shade as I wanted on this particular application. Wow! I really appreciated his integrity and desire to have a satisfied customer , even if meant no project for him. If we decide on shading a bigger area, I would not consider anyone but Rich . He will do the right thing."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

While concrete is durable, it’s also a porous material, meaning that spills can damage the material. Not only does sealing safeguard against this issue, but it can also reduce the risk of mold and mildew.

Epoxy paint is a popular option for concrete due to its durability and stain resistance. You can also use masonry paint, which adheres well to concrete. Acrylic paints are more affordable but not as durable. Concrete stain is another option, which is more durable than paint and won’t peel over time.

Concrete can take years to fully settle, but interior concrete floors are mostly settled after a year. Shifting and settling can occur throughout your home’s life, but most major settling happens the first few years after the concrete is poured. It’s not uncommon for minor cracks to appear in concrete floors over time—check with a concrete pro to ensure new cracks don’t indicate a structural issue in your home.

The cost for concrete coating services ranges from $3 to $15 per square foot. The final price is contingent on several factors, including the extent of surface preparation needed, the type of coating used, the total area being covered, and labor.

Mix the resurfacer into a sticky mixture. The consistency should look like mashed potatoes. Use a squeegee to push the resurfacer across the pitted area and smoothen the surface with a cement trowel flush. Make sure you protect any expansion joints with a weather strip. Alternatively, cut out any resurfacer that touched the joint once the mixture begins to harden.
