"Overall if functions well and looks alright, although some of the caulking is a little wavey on the top and they were never on time when they said they'd be. They fixed all of the issues when I asked them about it though so they stand behind their products."

""Unrivaled Old World Craftsmanship and Professionalism" From the second Jon showed up "on time" and stepped foot into our home the family was at ease. Jon gave us an estimate to install and refinish our water damaged (Sink Flood) floors that was extremely competitive with many of is top competitors. Jon explained the process so well, our 3 and 6 year olds understood what would happen and when. Jon, provided several samples of colors on our floor (making sure to appease my OCD) so we could decide on the color for our home. Once our color was selected and the date was set and the new wood was delivered Jon's professionalism shined from phone calls to verify dates were still good, to making sure the wood was stored properly for acclimation. When Jon sanded our floors with his dustless system I was sure I would find dust in our home but there was none. The floors are as smooth as a babies butt and the finish is spectacular. We love to show off our floors to Friends and Family!"

"Brian was very responsive to my endless questions about his coating process for my new garage floor. Since this is a new coat, I'm curious to see how it holds up through the rigors of Boise winters. But Brian is very honest and flexible."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

The best way to resurface a concrete porch is to clean and prep the surface, pour a layer of concrete on top, allow it to cure, then seal it. A concrete overlay provides a durable layer and enhances your porch's look. You can even choose a stamped overlay to make it look like stone or brick. To ensure structural integrity, repair concrete cracks before applying the new concrete. If the existing concrete is in significant disrepair, consider removing and replacing the concrete instead of an overlay.

Since epoxy products are hazardous to handle, it’s best to leave this job to a professional epoxy flooring contractor. These flooring professionals will have the appropriate protective gear to stay safe during the application process and will use the correct tools needed for the job. In addition, if not correctly applied, the epoxy won’t harden correctly, causing performance issues. Hire a professional epoxy flooring contractor to guarantee a smooth, even finish for your flooring.

Polished concrete floors also have downsides. Some homeowners, for example, might dislike the coldness of the material (though area rugs can help warm up the space). Concrete floors are also hard, which isn’t always ideal for children and pets. What’s more, these floors are susceptible to cracking, and repairs can be costly. Some homeowners might not like that installation isn’t DIY-friendly.

Whether it's better to stain or paint concrete depends on your budget, desired aesthetic, and DIY skill level. Generally, staining is a more durable option because the stain soaks into the concrete's surface and won't wear away like a topical paint coating. Painting concrete can trap moisture underneath the paint layer, which may cause the concrete to deteriorate over time. However, concrete paint offers a wider variety of colors, is typically easier and less expensive to apply, and is effective at covering up existing stains or blemishes on the surface.

Epoxy and polyurethane sealers can last five to 10 years, while acrylic sealers last two to three years or more depending on the use, wear of the surface, and type of sealer you choose. Areas that see heavy traffic or extreme ice and snow may require more frequent sealing. Test your concrete every two years to gauge how it responds to absorbing water or if it fully repels it for longer than 20 seconds.
