Customers say: True professional

"What an amazing company!! After moving into our house a few months ago we knew we wanted to repaint everything.  After a thorough search on Angie's list and coming across Scott's, I knew that was the only company I wanted in my home, and they have proven to be just as professional as all of the comments and grades suggested.
Quick responses and communication from the initial bid to the final days' work.
The professional job the crew has done has been incredible.  All of the trim and lines (especially at the ceiling) are razor sharp and the work areas are always clean at the end of the day.  This is also a company I have felt completely comfortable with not being at home while they work.
We will be hiring them for many more projects around the house.

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Outdoor plumbing issues are no less serious or urgent to fix than interior plumbing problems. These problems may require excavation and lawn repair due to the plumbing often being buried underground. The most common outside plumbing problems include:

  • Clogged landscape drainage: $200–$1,000

  • Clogged sewer lines: $60–$250 per linear foot

  • Corroded or rusted pipes: $1,500–$15,000+

  • Leaking drain lines: $200–$1,000

  • Leaking water mains: $300–$4,000+

  • Septic system failure: $600–$3,000+

  • Tree roots in pipes: $200–$1,000

  • Well pump failure: $350–$1,500

Installing a bathroom in a basement isn’t a project for most homeowners. Many parts—plumbing, electricity, and carpentry—go into this project, each requiring expert-level knowledge and tools. One miscalculation can lead to very expensive repairs. Plus, some homeowner’s insurance might not pay for damages caused by a homeowner DIYing this project. You can protect yourself by allowing the pros to complete this job for you.

Wall-mounted faucets aren’t more difficult to fix than traditional ones, but plumbing problems will complicate your repair. If your plumber needs to access the plumbing lines, they’ll have to open up the wall in your bathroom or kitchen. So once they finish fixing the issues, like a leak, you’ll need to pay extra for drywall repairs.

Be sure to consider how often you may need access to your pipes in the future. This can help you decide if you want to install a basic PVC backflow preventer or spring for a clear or removable one.

If you think you’ll need access to your plumbing often, or if your pipes have a history of problems, it’s probably worth spending a little more for something you can look into without removing the backwater preventer.

Yes, if you live in a climate with extended periods of frost or snow, it’s best to winterize the sink and avoid potential bursting. Similar to winterizing a garden hose, turn off your water from the source. Once turned off, open the faucet so the remaining water completely drains out. You can also pour a small amount of antifreeze down the sink drain so any trapped water won’t freeze.
