"Process: Found three companies via Angie's list and one company through a recommendation. Two companies from Angie's list returned the call. ArborForce was one of the companies. The company offered a valuable service at a competitive price. The team came prepared and was very efficient in their work. They cleaned up the place after they finished. They met my expectations as a tree service."

"I called them after hours to help pick up half a fallen tree that had landed at my parent s neighbor s home. We could not believe how quickly they responded by call, spoke to Shelly and then we promised to send photos and negotiated a great price for being after hours emergency. They were gladly able to service my elderly parents who are retired and were so shocked and scared and embarrassed of this whole situation. Luckily, Steve arrived less then two hours later! Amazingly fast and him and his crew were so kind, professional and helpful to my parents in that time of need. They even gave them advice on how to treat their trees for future. I will recommend them to anyone and will also use them for next future projects as these. They are true angels! Thank you A & C Services! Kind regards, Karen P in McDonough, Ga."

Customers say: Quality work

"3 large trees removed, removal and disposal of multiple large shrubs and small trees and trim, and prune some trees. They were professional, knowledgeable and had the equipment needed to complete the job. Good communication regarding my needs, timing and planning. The work was completed with excellent service and a full clean-up of the area. I will use them again and recommend them for all tree work."

"Had a large white oak tree that was struck by lightning and needed to be removed. Jimmy Rodriguez, the owner of Tree Surgeon Atlanta came out and assessed the situation and told me what his company would do including tree removal, stump grinding and clean up and haul off any and all debris. I had several other companies come out and Jimmy's quote was the best of all the quotes I received. His crew was very courteous and professional and their teamwork was impeccable. I am very pleased with the results and have contracted to have another large white oak tree removed which is dying with hollow spaces near the tree roots. I 100% recommend you reach out to him with any tree service or similar issues you may have."

"This company is amazing. From my first meeting with Omar I felt like I was talking to a friend.. He made the whole experience of such a large project of cutting down 3 large trees and replacing a privacy fence feel not so overwhelming. His team worked fast , safely and efficiently . I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again in the future!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Aside from removing dead or diseased branches, you should prune your trees somewhere between every one and three years. Some people—particularly commercial farmers—prune their apple trees yearly to produce higher yields. This is the best way to promote tree health. That said, the average homeowner can get away with hard-pruning their mature apple tree every other year or every three years.

Your local government is usually in charge of pruning trees on public property, and the power company is responsible for trees near power lines (even if they’re on your property). Whether or not they top these trees depends on their approach to pruning. You won’t be able to do much to control this, but you can contact them to find out more about their pruning process.

Maple trees start the growing season by developing small groups of red flowers where the tree's fruit, the samaras, will appear in the coming weeks. Later in spring, the samaras, which many call whirlybirds or similar names, develop into single-winged seed carriers that spin when falling or drifting in the wind.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.
