"Capital Fencing Pros were true professional. Parker came to my house and measured the property, provided assistance with the HOA letter to get approved for the fence. There is no best color for a vinyl fence, as it truly depends on a homeowner’s aesthetic preference. Classic white is the most popular and widely available of all the vinyl fence colors. However, contemporary black, warm browns, and natural grays are becoming more mainstream. One perk of darker-colored fences is that they are easier to “keep clean,” as in, dirt and debris don’t show up as easily as they would on lighter-colored fences. So if you don’t plan to give your fence regular washings, a dark color like black, gray, or brown would be the best choice.

Maintain your wattle fence by inspecting it at least twice per year for loose weaving and degrading branches. Replace any seriously degraded sections, ensure water drains properly around the posts, and trim any sprouting branches if you used green wood. If you notice the weave loosening, you can often tighten it by gently pushing down on the top branches. You can also apply a natural wood preservative every two to three years to extend the fence's lifespan.

In most cases, a fence can only be built on your property with your consent. Not obtaining permission constitutes an encroachment and a violation of your property rights. However, exceptions may apply, such as when the fence is entirely within the property boundaries of the person putting it up and the fence complies with local zoning laws and regulations. When considering how much of a gap should be under a fence or gate, a good rule of thumb is to keep gaps between 2 and 5 inches tall. This allows for some ground clearance for the gate but still provides safety for children and pets, who shouldn’t be able to squeeze through a gap of that size.

Ideally, when you replace a fence post, you should also replace the concrete footing. The concrete bonds to your new post, creating a secure base. If you install a new post into old concrete, it won’t be as sturdy.

Put the new post into the same hole and backfill it with fast-setting concrete. Keep in mind, this won’t work well for metal posts.
