Chamblee Fence of Georgia

I highly recommend Chamblee Fence. They replaced 196 feet of Split Rail fencing and removed an additional 171 feet of Split Rail that needed to be trashed. They did an excellent job and everything was cleaned up really well when they were done. Again, I highly recommend!

Completely satisfied. Third time we have used Chamblee Fence. Would recommend to anyone. Great people to work with.

My husband and I decided to have a backyard fence installed and met with 3 different companies, one of which was Chamblee Fence Company. We had used them for a previous fence installation back in 2011 and ultimately chose them this go around as well since we'd had such a positive experience the first time and their quote this time was competitive. When I placed my initial deposit, I was told I would be contacted within 3 business days by their scheduler but I eventually had to call them on day 5. At that time I was told the soonest they could be out was in 4 weeks which was not the time frame I was initially quoted (2-3 weeks) but in the interest of trying to be accommodating I accepted the appointment. My husband called back shortly after explaining that time frame was not what we were quoted and they were magically able to move our installation up by 9 days. Fast forward to the day before the installation and I had not heard from anyone confirming the appointment. Again, I had to reach out to their office to confirm we were still on schedule. The morning of our installation I received a phone call 30 minutes before the crew was supposed to arrive stating they had not finished their job from the day before and would not make it out that day. I explained that I had confirmed our appointment just the evening before, that I had already made arrangements to take my 3 small children away from the house that day and that my husband also took a 5 AM flight from Chicago back to Atlanta so he could be available for the install and my frustration was met with rudeness. When I asked why I was not notified the evening before that the crew had not finished the employee refused to answer me staying that "sometimes these things happen". I then asked for his job title and the name of his supervisor and was told verbatim "I do not have a job title" and "Ma'am, we are not going down that road. If you want that information you can call the office." At that point, I called the salesperson who initially came out to our home to quote the job and explained to him what was happening. He then provided completely different story stating that one of their trucks wouldn't start and so they were unable to pick up the supplies needed for our fence. He assured us they would try their best to get a crew to us that day and at approximately 1 PM, 1 worker showed up. He worked that evening until after 8 PM and promised to be back the next day, hopefully with additional men. The next morning the same worker showed up alone and spent 12 hours finishing the install. I will say that the worker who installed our fence was very nice and did excellent work. Our fence is beautiful and is exactly what I wanted which is really the only saving grace in this mess. Fast forward to the day after the installation was done - I had an invoice in my email from the fence company asking to be paid for the remainder of the job. That was on a Thursday afternoon. My husband and I wanted to take one more walk of the property to be sure there wasn't anything we wanted fixed before we paid them and intended to do so over the weekend. The following Monday morning I hopped online to pay them only to find they had already charged my credit card without so much as a single follow up phone call to make sure we were satisfied. They also did not have my permission to charge the card. To be fair, I went back and reread the invoice and it did state they would be charging my card the following day but I am shocked they would do so without a single follow up phone call or email to make sure we were satisfied with the fence. I can say with 100% certainly we will never use Chamblee Fence Company again and I wish we would have paid closer attention on the front end because there are many, many reviews just like ours. Ultimately, we are thrilled with the fence itself but their customer service is absolutely horrible.

I am very happy with the entire process. John my salesman, was prompt, professional and spent a lot of time helping ME figure out what I needed. I started out thinking I needed a much more expensive fence. John presented me with options and tweaked some standard configurations to customize them to my landscape. Then he let me decide. Chris the scheduler kept me updated with the installation date and the installers were attentive, courteous, professional and did an exceptional job...AND they were the lowest bid of the bids. I feel I got a great deal and consider them "my fence people" from this date forward... consider it done...

They sales rep that came was great. They came out right away to measure and take estimates. He was prompt and followed up well. Carolyn would inform us on the appointments and kept us updated.  I plan on using them again.

Chamblee Fence was happy to install a new fence several years ago but now when I really need them to do a repair/replace a fence damaged in a storm they refuse my business! Unacceptable!!

5.31.12. The Latino crew did a very fast, efficient job of installation.. However, when I inspected the work, the top cross bars on two of the gates were not installed to 'true level" making the gates appear crooked from the street. I meassured and there was a 1-2" slant on both gates. I sent a photo to the receptionist who forwarded it to construction manager 1#. He told me he saw nothing wrong with the picture and that I didn't understand what it  was supposed to look like..6.1.12. I called back but 1# was out of town. The receptionist referred the probelm to manager 2#.6.4. 12. My husband noticed that in addition to the problem with the gates, red cedar had been used to brace the pine uprights on the gates and a short section of fence.    I called and spoke to manager 2#.  He questioned my insistence on using pressure treated pine.  I said it made no sense since cedar and PT pine do not last the same amount of time.  He said that our contract didn't specify  the type of wood to be used  for anything except the verticals and posts, which were to be PT pine. I checked and found that  among many fine lines of specs on the contract, the line  specifyying cross pieces had been left blank by the person who made the estimate. I was furious. and said it  felt  to me like  deception by omission. I offered to stop payment on our credit card and contact the BBB if the problem was not corrected.6.5.12 Manger1# called and we had a calm converstion. He said they used cedar ,because it's lighter and   won't warp the gate hinges. But he had NO explanation for why it was used on the fence segment. He asked where I got the idea. I said I  read it in numerous home improvement articles. He had no reply. He scheduled a time for the fence crew to return and replace the wood..6.12.12. The crew returned, and corrected both problems. However, they aksed me for a check when they were done, although we had already paid by credit card.   After they left  I noticed  they made another mistake- they installed dados (which they left off the first time)  beside the gate on the wrong side of the house! So even the correction was not done  completely right.

Bad customer service!

They put up $8000 worth of fencing in a day. We would use them again if needed.

I called Chamblee Fence because my parents used them and had a good experience. Tom Charmont came out and quoted the job. I had three companies quote the job and they were right in the middle so I chose Chamblee to install my fence. Everything was fine up until this point. We scheduled for the fence to be installed in two weeks and I was to be off from work the day they were to intall. Later that week I get a call (from a neighbor) at work that men are working in my backyard installing a fence. They were clearly not authorized to do this as I wanted to be there when the fence was installed. I get there before they are finished and find they had left a pizza box and soda cans all over my back pattio. I gave them a trash bag and they cleaned up their mess even though they had an attitude while doing it. The workmanship was also very poor. At the time of the instal they installed a split board and when I complined about it they said they were not responsible for weathing of the wood. The fence was only up for 3 days and we had one of the worst droughts in Atlanta's history. The fence also was not installed correctly on the side of the house as I have had to hire someone to install that correctly and the lock has not worked correctly to this date. Since Chamblee would not fix their work I disputed the claim with American Express and they placed a lein on my home while the dispute was in process. I would not use Chamblee Fence again if they were the only fence company in the state!

The estimator was very thorough, and even came back a second time to settle an issue that came up with the surveyor. The crew they sen out did a great job installing the fence and in making a gate. Left the yard looking great. Would definitely recommend them, and use them again myself.

They did a great job. They were straight forward and honest. They were on time and had worked me into their schedule in about a week. They did exactly what they said they would do and were able to do the work when they said. They also did the work for exactly what they quoted us.

We got several estimates but with them for there reputation. They were efficient and always on time. They are fairly priced. They cleaned up well after themselves.

Was very pleased UNTIL the gate stopped closing automatically (it protects a pool) and (unfortunately) a neighbor accidentally broke the key off in the lock. When I called the company to ask them to readjust the gate and deal with the lock problem, they said it would be too expensive for them to come out. They told me to figure out how to adjust the gate and call a locksmith. Not really the follow-up service I hoped for or expected.

I really enjoyed going to this place. They have a show room there and it is great. They are a top notch company. I recommend this place highly and I feel that people should check it out. They have a large inventory to choose from. They showed me pictures and I was able to choose what I wanted. The charge I do not recall but it was really reasonable.

I priced our job with 4 different companies and everyone's prices were the same, so I went with my gut and hired the company I got the best "feel" from. I definitely made the right decision and had a GREAT experience with Chamblee Fence. They did everything, they said they would and their workers were great. They did the whole job in a day plus, about an hour, the next day. We were very pleased!

Excellent in all areas. The est. was fair. The person, Dana, was excellent. She has followed up with us before, during and after. The job was done on schedule and very well. They worked hard and cleaned up behind themselves. I had nothing to complain about. Perfect in all ways, I wish all work was done this way.

Terri Stagg took my order and she came out to my house and did the measurements. Dave about a week and a half later Dave scheduled me to have the work done. While I was at work 2-3 guys did the work and when I got home it was done. They spilled some cement on the ground on the grass and left my hose unrolled on the ground but I didn't make a fuss. They came out 2 more times to adjust the double gate as it began to sag when the wood expanded. This is normal and there was no charge for the visit. Dave was great over the phone and does all the scheduling. If I could do it over I might have stayed around a little longer to make sure the fence went exactly where I wanted it to go. The guys who did the work didn't speak very good English.

CHAMBLEE FENCE ALSO DID MY PARENTS' FENCE AND THE EXPERIENCE WAS LESS EXCELLENT. THERE WAS A LOT OF MISCOMMUNICATION REGARDING THE DAY OF INSTALLATION. THEY DID COME THROUGH AND REDUCE THE PRICE BECAUSE OF THAT, WHICH WAS A NICE GESTURE.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE INSTALLERS SYSTEM FOR INSTALLING THE FENCE. THEY DID IT IN 4 HOURS AND SO FAR ITS LOOKING GOOD. THIS WORK WAS DONE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THE FENCE IS WEARING WELL. MY ONLY ISSUE IS WITH THEIR SERVICE RESPONSE. I INITIALLY NOTICED SOME WARPING IN THE GATE WHICH APPARENTLY IS NORMAL SINCE IT HAS GONE AWAY. UNFORTUNATELY, AFTER 3 CALLS NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU MAKE SURE YOU CLEARLY DETAIL WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, AND THEN VERIFY THE WORK IS GOOD BEFORE YOU PAY THEM. OTHERWISE YOU MAY HAVE AN ISSUE GETTING SERVICE.

VERY RESPONSIVE. CAME BACK TO GIVE US A NEW ESTIMATE AFTER OUR HOMEOWNER'S ASSOCIATION DID NOT APPROVE OF THE ORIGINAL FENCE PLACEMENT. PROMPT, COURTEOUS, FOREMAN SPOKE PERFECT ENGLISH AND SPANISH. ONLY MINOR ISSUE WAS A NUMBER OF CIGARETTE BUTTS WERE LEFT IN THE YARD. MIDDLE OF THE PACK ON ESTIMATES (THE REASON FOR THE ''B'' FOR PROFESSIONALISM).

THEY DID VERY NICE WORK.
