"Great service! I called Chris for a quote and he responded through email. He came to the property as agreed and offered a very competitive quote and after reading through the proposed work, I went with Bella Dreams Home Services. Very clear communication and responsive and even when I suggested to make some changes and eventually did not go through with it he was still patient. He came on time the day of, brought his crews and finished the work in 1 day. Everything was cleaned up and he even removed some trash that has been sitting in my backyard and the sidewalk. Thank you Chris."

"I got a custom shower and new floor. The crew is fantastic. Knowledgeable and listened to exactly what I wanted. They were prompt to arrive, completed the job in the time promised, affordable, respectful, they cleaned up ALL of their supplies and mess when the job was done. Took measures to protect the walkway to the area of the house where the work was completed. I really can’t say enough foot things about this company and crew."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

If the bowing basement wall is less than 2 inches, steel or carbon fiber straps are the best solution. For bowing that is more than 2 inches, wall anchors are the most effective. A contractor can help you decide the best method of repair for your home's foundation and also address the root cause of the trouble.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

Professionals ensure precise alignment and durability, critical for structural integrity.

Stick frames, metal frames, or prefabricated concrete frames are included in framing a house, along with creating the framework and space for windows, doors, and entryways. Other aspects of developing a home—like drywall, insulation, windows, doors, and more—are not included in the cost to frame a house.
