"Ronnie and his team did an excellent job of completing my projects. They installed a new metal roof and rebuilt a porch including demmolition and replacing the porch roof. He and his team were courteous and efficient completing all the requested work in one day. Ronnie completed my projects on time and below the originally quoted price. The quality of materials and workmanship were high. He arrived on time at the time promised and completed everything I asked plus a few extras at no additional charge. Thanks for a job well done Ronnie and team!"

"I got a custom shower and new floor. The crew is fantastic. Knowledgeable and listened to exactly what I wanted. They were prompt to arrive, completed the job in the time promised, affordable, respectful, they cleaned up ALL of their supplies and mess when the job was done. Took measures to protect the walkway to the area of the house where the work was completed. I really can’t say enough foot things about this company and crew."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

While some highly experienced homeowners can frame a house independently, it is not advisable. You will need ample carpentry experience, a team of helpers, and professionals to sign off on your work to meet local building codes. For the safest outcome, we recommend buying or building a house with the guidance of professionals.

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.

If you remove a load-bearing wall to create an entrance to a carport or covered patio, you can expect to pay between $3,200 and $9,500, with an average cost of $6,400. Factors such as the type of addition and if that area needs additional work will add to the price.
