"Wes and an assistant technician came at their assigned time at 9am and worked hard all day until after 7pm. They were very effective and detailed in locating the problems with my duct system (there were many) and ensuring their setup was meticulously done so that the Aeroseal air sealing went well. Their attention to detail was fantastic and when they went to do the sealing treatment they showed me what they were doing and explained how the Aeroseal system works. They even printed a graph for me on how the sealing measures tightened up my ducts. My HVAC duct system was exceptionally leaky. It started leaking at 414 cfm and by the time Wes was done doing the Aeroseal treatment it only leaked 160 cfm. I didn't expect them to be able to seal all of the leaks, but they got most of them. I was running the downstairs AC this morning and I can feel the difference in the amount of AC now blowing out of the downstairs vents. I am certain this will also help on our heating bills in the winter."
"WT Heating and Air are true professionals. They came in took care of business and communicated effectively to me (the home owner) and to my tenants. All I had to do was make the first call and the rest was taken care of. I will use them again. Thanks WT!"
High humidity is one of the most common reasons for air vents to sweat or produce condensation. When the cool, dry air from your HVAC unit meets warm and moist air in your home, it will cause condensation. Insulating your ductwork can help prevent this. If you live in a very humid region, a dehumidifier can also help.
While you’ll pay more upfront for a brand-new HVAC unit, you can save money in the long run. Here’s how to save on your new HVAC system:
When purchasing a high-efficiency system, your energy bills will be lower in the future.
You may be eligible for special offers from your local energy company.
Depending on the system, you may be eligible for HVAC rebates and tax credits.
Choose to replace your air conditioning unit and furnace simultaneously to save on labor and installation costs.
You should get anywhere from three to five quotes for HVAC replacement to get an idea of the average cost of a new unit. Although this quote-collecting process can be time consuming, it allows you to compare what work is required, what type of unit you should install, and how much you should expect to pay for the service.
When your HVAC technician mentions recharging your home AC unit, they’re referring to the process of topping off the unit with refrigerant, so the levels are properly maintained and pressurized. Normally, a properly functioning AC unit doesn’t need additional refrigerant, but AC units can develop leaks or other problems that decrease the amount of refrigerant needed.
To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.
