"Our technician Tim was fantastic. My wife needed to meet G Force at her mom's house to supervise repairs, and they did a great job keeping her informed of their ETA so she had plenty of time to travel to meet them. Once at the house, Tim discovered an issue with the concrete slab where the original toilet sat, which prevented a safe and secure install of the new toilet. He and his supervisor worked with us to recommend a repair and schedule a return visit that worked with my wife's schedule. On the second visit, Tim repaired the concrete, installed the new toilet and adjusted the height of the cutoff valve. Plus, he took a few extra minutes to walk the house (inside and out) with my mother-in-law to check the plumbing to ensure everything was in working order and confirm she knew what to do in the event of a water leak. He even took the time to label the majority of the valves in the house to make things easier for her. In looking for a plumber, we certainly found cheaper options, but without a doubt, we will phone G Force again (and request Tim as our technician)."

"Chris Peschell arrived early, was very friendly and efficient, and made sure I understood the repair process and how to maintain the new items. I was so pleased with the work he did, that I hired him to return and install a whole house water filtering system. The personnel at The Original Plumber office were friendly and helpful, too. My water heater is almost 10 years old, so I asked Chris to come back in a couple months to replace that next. I highly recommend this company and Chris."

"Great! Plumber used shoe coverings and was super polite. The job needed a part replaced in the tank, the part was on the truck and was installed quickly. Will definitely use this company again!"

"Needed to replace 20 year old leaky faucet. Purchased a new faucet thinking I'd replace it myself. At the same time Angie's List had a Big Deal I couldn't refuse. American Freedom Plumbing, Matt Vaughn was the plumber, was right on time and installed the new fixture in under 2 hours. He had to replace some of the drain pipe and provided new supply connection lines. He did this at no charge! Matt also gave me some good advice on some toilets I want to replace. I plan on replacing 2 toilets and the remaining 3 bathroom sink fixtures and will definitely be looking for American Freedom Plumbing to this work for me. Hopefully I can purchase another Big Deal!

"I had a leak in my front yard that was starting to pool water. Jabbari came out dug up the line and was very fair on the pricing. However I ended up having more than one leak so I opted to just replace the line. One of the main things I liked was that my money I had already paid for the leak repair was not just a lost cost. He applied what I had paid to the cost of installing a new line and I had my problem fixed by nightfall. Thanks guys. I know exactly who to recommend if anyone I know needs a plumber."

"The store would not do the hook up, because their guys were not allowed to drill to my kitchen sink cabinet where there was a rigid line underneath. So, I called a plumber. A small job for a plumber; I haven't had any problems so far. I paid a little more than the credit offered. I've never had to use a plumber before so I'm not the best judge of pricing. I think the plumber was a little in a bad mood that day or maybe depressed.

"The sink installation was seamless. I initially purchased the wrong size sink for my countertop. They worked with me to get me back on the schedule once my new sink arrived. James, the plumber, took no time to install the sink. He even installed a new faucet with no additional charge. I haven't had any problems since installation. I highly recommend."

"Jean Claude and his team at Image Renovations did a fantastic job! They really do care about every last detail. Jean Claude kept me informed of all progress and was great about explaining different options and their impacts. Jean Claude is a true perfectionist, and demands the same of his team. They took great care and pride in their work. Jean Claude understood that this was our first major renovation, and worked with us on our special requirements for a handicap bath. We had to not only consider my young son's current needs, but had to try and plan for his future needs. Jean Claude was very accommodating and built a barrier free roll in shower as well as installed a 36" wide pocket door to save us space. This was no small feat as the header in the attic had to be reinforced in order to accomodate the door. He also enlarged the bedroom door and frame to 36" and installed prefinished hardwood in my son's bedroom. Jean Claude and his team were a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend them for any job of any size.

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

There’s no definitive answer regarding whether equipping your kitchen island with a stove or sink is better. The right option depends on each homeowner's lifestyle, cooking style, and kitchen layout. If you cook with guests over, having a stove that faces outward can facilitate socialization while you prepare dinner. On the other hand, if you use a lot of produce, having your sink by your prep area makes it easier to clean veggies while cooking. A sink also makes cleanup easier by allowing you to wipe down your prep area and place your dirty dishes in the sink.

Yes, you can use flexible pipe for a sink drain. Flexible pipes can make it easier to fit sink plumbing together with less measuring and fewer cuts. However, corrugated flexible pipe can trap hair, grease, and food particles in the folds and cause foul odors and eventually build up enough to clog the drain. Smooth pipes are recommended for sink drains and plumbing.

If you find moisture under your sink, you can clean up the worst of it with paper towels or regular towels. Then, leave the cabinet doors open to allow air circulation. You can also place a fan or dehumidifier near the cabinet to help dry it out a little quicker.

The Thanksgiving holiday period is one of the busiest times of the year for plumbers. Both Thanksgiving Day and the day after, often called Black Friday or "Brown Friday" by plumbing professionals, see a significant increase in service requests. This is because a house full of guests, large holiday meals, and unfamiliarity with the home's plumbing can lead to clogged drains, garbage disposal issues, and sewer line backups. Outside of the holidays, the busiest weekdays for plumbers are typically Monday and Tuesday, as many people discover plumbing problems over the weekend but wait to call for service. Despite the holiday, you can rest assured that many plumbers work on Thanksgiving and Black Friday to handle the surge in emergency calls.

Refinishing a bathtub is a project you can do at the same time as refinishing a porcelain sink. If your tub is the same age as your sink, consider getting a quote. Most homeowners spend about $480 on the cost of refinishing a bathtub, but it ranges between $335 and $630, depending on the size, style, and material of the tub.
