"The movers were very knowledgeable and professional. Edwin kept us laughing, which isn't easy in the midst of a move! We had 4 movers and they didn't leave until everything was placed and assembled exactly the way we wanted. This is how moving should be!"

"Would absolutely recommend them, very professional and careful... definitely know what they are doing. They moved my spinet player piano ... was tall and very heavy. Best company for this type of move. I will always use them when I have any furniture to move."

"I received a same day appointment to move a refrigerator from Deltona to Orlando. Craig Connor was very helpful and upfront about pricing and provided a fair price. The guys showed up and secured the refrigerator with moving blankets and plastic wrap and quickly loaded on the truck. The delivery went well as well. My parents were very pleased with the guys' assistance in getting the old refrigerator moved to the garage and the new one installed. They even waited patiently while my mom cleaned the floor after the old refrigerator was removed. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Teleport Moving and Storage and will definitely use them again!"

"Angel Movers were excellent from the first phone call through complete move. Rick was quite flexible in working with my schedule for pickup and delivery. The moving team (Moses, John, and Ferris) were very professional and pleasant to work with. They did a great job handling all out bulking furniture including a piano. Great company. Great team. Excellent work!"

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Movers are very skilled in everything having to do with the moving process. From knowing which supplies and materials to use for certain items, to packing, to knowing how to efficiently load a truck, they have experience doing it all. And professional movers often do it all faster and more efficiently than a typical homeowner could.

Yes, in almost all cases, it is worth the investment to hire professional piano movers. Pianos are not only heavy and bulky but are also often expensive and delicate instruments. Attempting to move one yourself poses a significant risk of damage to the piano, your home, and can lead to serious personal injury, especially when navigating stairs. The average cost of hiring professional movers (around $400) is typically much less than the potential cost of repairs, replacement, or medical bills that could result from an unsuccessful DIY move.

Yes, you can very carefully lay down a grandfather clock to move it, but it requires a bit of prep work. Remember, all of your clock's components and mechanisms are delicate, and shifting them can cause serious damage. Before laying it down, you will need to remove these pieces, plus the weights and the pendulum.

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.

Before hiring a moving company to help you with your move, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:

  • Is there anything your company won’t move?

  • Does workers’ compensation cover the crew?

  • Will you disassemble and reassemble the furniture?

  • Are there packing restrictions?

  • Can you guarantee my delivery date?

  • Can you provide references?

  • What do you charge extra for?

  • What is your cancellation policy?
