"Patrick went well above and beyond what my expectations were. I had an Oak tree with an extremely invasive root system, so much so that it was beginning to lift my walkway. Patrick, very thoughtfully and carefully, followed the root system and was able to remove and stump grind the tree to alleviate all problems. He also, as a courtesy, fixed my walkway and removed a few smaller trees to clean up the entire area. I was thankful for his professionalism, attention to detail and kindness. I am very pleased with the job and believe him to be honest, knowledgeable and blessed with an old-fashioned work ethic. I highly recommend his services."

"They called in the morning and were out and completed the job in the afternoon. They cleaned up and actually took away some tree branches that had previously accumulated at no extra charge! Same day service and a very reasonable price is unheard of these days! I would give them a 6.0 if I could! AA1++"

"Workers arrived on time, removed a large maple tree in a difficult location behind my shed and cleaned up everything. They also removed a large palm and a large dead branch from an Oak tree. The price for the job was competitive and reasonable for the work performed. Ethan impressed me with his knowlege of tree horticulture and proper pruning of trees. I will use this company again when needed!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

The exact answer to this question depends on which region of the country you’re talking about, but according to various tree counts, some of the most common types of trees in the United States include red maple, Douglas fir, quaking aspen, loblolly pine, and sweetgum.
