"Very well. We had Butch, Tony and P-Nut install a 9ft, 57 pound Chandelier on a 22 ft ceiling. There were over 1,000 pieces that had to be meticulously put together. Took them a day and a half at a cost of $1,650. Will rehire again when needed."

"Ray stands out as the best of the best in a world of too many unreliable handymen and questionable contractors. Ray is truly a master craftsman capable of anything a home could require. His honest and caring beyond doubt. His experience will make your great project ideas even better. We gave him the keys to our house and trust him with our home and our project. We visualized raising our kitchen ceiling and boxing in ("Wrapping") our ceiling trusses (previously in the attic) to be visible structural elements in our kitchen. Ray nailed this. He took our great idea and made it fantastic through his recommendations and skill."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

LED lights last much longer than conventional incandescent light bulbs. Most manufacturers estimate that LED bulbs can last between 10 and 15 years, but they more often last between four and seven years with regular use. Other factors, such as heat exposure and surging electrical currents, can cause an LED bulb to burn out prematurely.

Installing a light fixture usually takes about one to two hours for a standard ceiling-mounted fixture, and longer for more extensive installations. The installation time can vary depending on the type of fixture, whether you’re installing a new fixture or replacing an old one, and any additional wiring or drywall work required to finish around the new fixture. When hiring an electrician to install your light fixture, ask them to provide a time estimate based on the specifics of your project.

Some types of fixtures might be a little trickier to remove than others, but they’re all relatively basic DIY jobs that should take an hour or less. Identifying the type of light you have is the first step in a safe, simple removal—learn how to remove recessed lights for a quick how-to on taking out one of the more common types of fixtures.

Recessed lighting comes in hundreds of designs. Modern LED recessed lights have a longer lifespan than traditional incandescent bulbs. You can get integrated wafer canless bulbs that fit flush into the ceiling, even under a joist. In the can vs. canless recessed lighting discussion, both have their merits depending on your budget and ceiling space.

Solar tubular lights, also referred to as tubular daylighting devices, are the most viable alternative to skylights on the market. These lights direct sunlight from the roof through a tube and into the ceiling. They also have the ability to bend around anything that may get in their way, making them adaptable to most spaces. Though they don’t offer quite as much light as a traditional skylight, they’re still an amazing alternative that can provide you with that natural light you crave.
