"I hired Rachel and Cole to handle the regular maintenance of my pool. I had not been able to take care of my pool for a few months, so it was green when they started. They came out the very next day, a Sunday after returning my HomeAdvisor request within 30 minutes. I am very impressed with their customer service. They have worked hard to bring my pool back, I can report it is sparkly clear and I highly recommend them. They will be handling my maintenance from now on."

"It was a seamless process working with Sun Blue. From the very beginning, the salesman offered suggestions without being pushy. The project managers were very helpful and there was no issue changing the pool tile colors at the last minute. It was a wonderful experience. The pool looks lovely. I hired their pool man to maintain the pool afterwards and he the best."

Small jobs welcome

"Pool Pirates really know how to make a good first impression. I was impressed by their speed and efficiency. They arrived at my house assessed the maintenance requirements for my pool and identified several issues the previous Pool company had not identified. I was even surprised they went out of their way to fix an existing leak during off hours for me. They definitely make me feel like I am valued as a customer, and I truly feel my pool is in good hands. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone who will actually look after and maintain their pool."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Consultation with the local government helps identify necessary permits, avoid project delays or legal issues, and protect project integrity.

Land surveys are worth it in several scenarios including selling your home, building an addition, constructing a fence, or making major changes to your landscape. A professional land survey can help you avoid legal issues with your neighbors and confirm the value of your property. In many cases, you may be required to order a land survey to receive a construction permit or mortgage loan.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.
