"They came out right away to provide the estimate, which I really appreciated. From the beginning, they were very professional, friendly, and gave a detailed explanation of the entire process. I liked how clearly they walked me through everything so I knew exactly what to expect. You can tell they’re very busy with their schedule, which honestly says a lot about how in demand they are, but they still managed everything efficiently. The whole process felt organized and smooth. Most importantly, I’m very happy with the results. The tiles look so much cleaner and refreshed. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality tile cleaning."

"We just had a kitchen update done by Anthonyâ s Custom Kitchens. From the minute I contacted Anthony for a quote to the last day of the install he never ignored me or left me waiting for an answer. My texts and phone calls were answered immediately. I was always confident that Anthony would follow through on everything that I asked for. His goal was to make me totally and completely happy. Kudos to Francois, in particular, who not only did an amazing job on what could have been a difficult tile to work with but he did anything else I asked to make the kitchen perfect. We would totally recommend Anthonyâ s Custom Kitchens. Michele O."

"My husband and I had a great experience working with Tile Cleaning 24 Hour. Ofer followed up with us immediately following our inquiry. He came over to our apartment, gave us a fair price and got right to work. He was thorough, skilled and very professional. Our floors had ten years of residue in the grout, and the difference is amazing. We highly recommend Tile Cleaning 24 Hour."

"My former tenants trashed the laminate flooring I Daniel Flooring installed 3 years ago. I updated to luxury vinyl flooring. Daniel flooring has always been prompt. They worked with my condo association to get the flooring installed. They installed the flooring immediately upon approval within a few days. It looks lovely."

"Analyzed the situation, and using ingenuity, propped up the platform, placed screws in the concrete block wall that supported the side beam of the platform. Fast. Inventive. Confident. Came well-equipped. No hesitation. No anguish.
A great job. I had envisioned a much more complicated approach.

Small jobs welcome

"John and his two workers arrived right on time and promptly got to work. John was very friendly and very knowledgeable about his work. He explained what they would be doing, so my questions were answered before I asked. They did a great job cleaning and sealing my floor tiles. I will definitely use them again."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Ideally, you should remove tile before installing hardwood floors, but there are good reasons not to. Removing stubborn tile can be a labor-intensive job that adds days to the project. The subfloor beneath the tiles could also be damaged during the process, meaning you’d have to repair the subfloor before installing the new hardwood floor.

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.

Here’s another instance of where the answer is you could, but that doesn’t mean you should. Yes, part of the issue is getting the drywall to stay in place on the tiles, and it’s understandable that screws will crack the tiles and cause them to crumble. That’s why it’s a much better idea to screw drywall into studs, not your porcelain or ceramic tile. But aside from issues with attaching the drywall, it’s also about ensuring a smooth application without trapping moisture inside.
