"Dee is a real find â a master craftsman, who works to a high standard and aims to please. He plans out his projects and has creative suggestions. He is highly professional and reliable, and his fees are reasonable. Most recently he repaired and painted a badly rotting deck â and now it is sturdy and looks like new. Dee also built from scratch a beautiful outdoor bannister decorated with a planterâ again, good looking and very sturdy. You will enjoy Dee and his work. We have used him multiple times and will again."

"Scott is a very dedicated, talented and customer pleasing man! He gladly came back and retouched the stain on the new front door he installed... 3 times! The door itself was expertly installed and his advice from the start was invaluable. Call him! You will be so glad you did...we are!"

"From the estimate through completion, Craig and his crew were amazing. He kept me involved and let me explain plans and worked with me to make it happen. They are beyond reasonable in pricing, efficient and clean when on site. My neighbors has work done based on their actions at my house. There's tons of companies that are fancy and play games, these guys don't. Do your self a favor and hire them."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

While framing a basement is not as difficult as finishing a basement, it's something you should typically leave to the pros. That’s because if something is installed correctly, it will affect your entire basement. However, you can take care of some of the smaller tasks, like filling holes or putting up some insulation.

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.

Professionals ensure precise alignment and durability, critical for structural integrity.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

The best way to calculate framing costs is by basing your costs on the square footage of your home. On average, framing your home could cost anywhere between $7 and $16 per square foot.

To ensure you don’t go over budget, base your estimates on the higher end of the price range. If you know you’re going to use high-end materials or require a custom or complex build, you might even want to tack on an additional 5% of your budget.
