Small jobs welcome

"I am throughly pleased with the work that Robert did. He was very professional and did exactly what he said he would do. His prices are fair and aligned with other quotes I had previously received . I have actually scheduled another job for him to complete next week. I will continue to use him for ALL my handyman needs."

"We hired Magical Mike for several projects which included painting a room, fixing outdoor light fixtures, installing new front door screen, cleaning high windows and blinds, and installing new outlet. A three day project. His team was very thorough, professional and respectful. Special recognition to Polito who did most of the work and to Rob who came to help finish the projects. Pricing was reasonable and we will definitely hire Magical Mike Handyman services again for future projects."

Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.

It really depends on what you are hiring them for

Helpful?

To make handyman projects in Saint Augustine safer for families, choose low-VOC paints and non-toxic pest solutions for healthy indoor air. Use slip-resistant flooring and rounded edges on built-ins to prevent injuries. Install temporary safety gates during work, and ensure proper ventilation to minimize mold risk. Sealing gaps keeps out local wildlife, while adding shaded outdoor areas helps protect children and pets from Saint Augustine’s intense sun.

Helpful?

In Saint Augustine, signs like peeling paint, warped wood, musty smells, or visible water stains indicate it’s time for handyman services. Rising energy bills, pest sightings, or loose roof shingles also suggest repairs are needed. Schedule exterior work from October to April for milder weather. After major storms or every five years, a comprehensive home assessment helps identify maintenance needs unique to Saint Augustine homes.

Helpful?

Completing a mailbox repair directly boosts your curb appeal, which carries outsized weight in the Saint Augustine real estate market. Buyers are drawn to the aesthetic cohesion of local neighborhoods. In HOA-governed communities, a well-maintained mailbox prevents violation notices. Florida law requires sellers to disclose open HOA violations, meaning an unrepaired mailbox will directly complicate a home sale. Keep your property compliant and attractive to impress potential buyers.

Helpful?

A re-emerging lean indicates the previous mailbox repair did not account for sandy local soil conditions. If the post wobbles during moderate wind, the concrete footing is insufficient for coastal gusts. Visible rust bleeding through paint means the corrosion was simply covered up rather than treated. Peeling finish within one season shows the materials used cannot withstand the intense UV and humidity levels found throughout Saint Augustine.
