"They did an excellent job. They trimmed three trees and took down one. They even removed all of the leaves. Many of my neighbors have commented that my property looks great."

When they finished there work, they cleaned up all the tree debris leaving everything looking very nice. Pricing for the job was far bellow all other bid's. "The first time I had this company help me get a tree trimmed from over my well, Billy's work ethic essentially got him the work. I needed a quite a few big branches cut and trimmed over my well so I could get a new well drilled, he came around 5 p.m. ready to work. He worked with me on the price which was fair and essentially had him come back out to cut a tree down that was over my house and dying. Again he showed up on time and stayed in communication. I would recommend this company because this is a small business and the owner is out here on every job getting his hands dirty and trying to build his business up one kob at a time."

"Cleared some underbrush/small trees and stump grinding from my property. Quality work in a timely manner for a fair price. Highly recommend using this veteran owner business."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The ideal time to prune a tree depends on the type of tree. Typically, late winter or early spring is a good time to prune but isn't always the case for "towering trees." It's best to trim when trees are dormant and before blooms appear but can vary depending on the tree type. It's always best to research the type of tree or ask a professional tree trimmer to determine when is the perfect time to prune your tree.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid flush cuts, which are cuts made as extremely close to the trunk or main branch. These cuts can weaken your tree, lower its natural defense mechanisms, and even cause decay. You’ll also want to avoid tree topping, which is the total removal of the leader and upper main branches of a tree.

Most pros will advise against either of these methods, which is why hiring a pro is often the best choice when it comes to tree trimming.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

It may not be worth it to rake every leaf in your yard, but it’s necessary to remove the majority of leaves to prevent them from smothering grass growth on your lawn. However, raking leaves isn’t your only option for leaf removal. You can remove leaves easily with a leaf blower or compost or mulch them with your lawn mower to repurpose them to help grow your garden or yard.

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.
