"Very happy with every aspect of the job they did for us. They were very professional, and completed their work quickly. When they finished there work, they cleaned up all the tree debris leaving everything looking very nice. Pricing for the job was far bellow all other bid's. We are very pleased with Tree Solutions and would certainly recommend them to anyone needing tree work."

"The first time I had this company help me get a tree trimmed from over my well, Billy's work ethic essentially got him the work. I needed a quite a few big branches cut and trimmed over my well so I could get a new well drilled, he came around 5 p.m. ready to work. He worked with me on the price which was fair and essentially had him come back out to cut a tree down that was over my house and dying. Again he showed up on time and stayed in communication. I would recommend this company because this is a small business and the owner is out here on every job getting his hands dirty and trying to build his business up one kob at a time."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

It can take anywhere from one month to a couple of years for tree roots to grow back in sewer lines. Tree roots can cause extreme havoc on your sewer lines, potentially cracking them and causing untreated wastewater to make its way into the groundwater. Have a landscaping pro remove trees and roots before installing your system, or call a pro to do it retroactively as soon as you can.

Opt for a barefoot tree. Pros harvest barefoot trees when they’re dormant (leafless). They shake the dirt from the root ball and pack it in moist material.

These trees can cost half as much as the trees at your local nursery, and you can buy them online—so there’s a much wider selection. Just make sure you keep your barefoot tree cool until you’re ready to plant it.

Light-bark trees are most notorious for producing lots of sap when wounded. These varieties include maples, birches, poplars, dogwoods, magnolias, and elms, and they will bleed more when the trees are dormant. That’s why it’s a good idea to prune them in the summer months rather than waiting until winter.

White vinegar does not kill ivy on trees because its acetic acid concentration is not high enough to overpower it. Vinegar is an effective herbicide for weeds and other plants, but not for the strength of most ivies, including poison ivy and English ivy. You should use an herbicide to kill ivy, such as one with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr.
