"Worthmann Roofing installed a new metal roof on our home. There was a part that needed additional work but unfortunately, it rained before it could be completed and some damage was done. Worthmann Roofing FULLY STOOD behind their warranty and repaired the affected. Additionally, I would like to mention that the restoration company, Morales Restoration, was SO good. They cleaned, mopped and left our home clean and as good as of it had never happened. Last but not least, a special “Thank you” to Joey with Worthmann Roofing for your guidance in getting this done. We truly do appreciate it!"

"Andy, Chris, Daisy, and the 7-man roofing crew were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They did an outstanding job, excellent price, and not one piece of roofing material or nails in the flower beds or lawn. Andy and Chris kept in communication with me throughout the entire project. They also took care of the new gutters for me. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Florida Top Shield Roofing!"

"I had an excellent experience. From the initial consultation to the final application, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and very thorough. They took the time to explain the roof protection process and answered all my questions. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and paid close attention to detail. I know have the peace of mind knowing my roof is now better protected from Florida’s harsh sun and storms. If you’re looking to extend the life of your roof and protect your home, I highly recommend Roof Saver FL!"

"I would highly recommend Century Roofing. They came out the same day I called to put a tarp over my roof. Steve came back the next day to double check that the tarp was still on properly before the storm. He gave me options of how to go about fixing my roof. I plan on hiring them to redo my roof after the hurricane passes. I am very pleased with this company."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Asphalt shingles blister when air gets trapped between building materials, either within the layers of the shingle itself or in adhesives on the undersides of the shingles. As the roof heats up in direct sunlight, the trapped gas expands and creates a bubble in the roof. Eventually, the bubble can pop, leaving an exposed area of decking and underlayment.

Though cedar shakes often get confused with shingles, there are a few key differences between wood shakes and wood shingles. For one, cedar shingle prices are lower, although shingles are less durable than wood shakes. Cedar shakes are thicker than shingles (shingles range from about 3/8 to 1/2 inches thick, compared to 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick for shakes). Wood shakes are handmade, while shingles are usually machine-made. Also, wood shakes work better on steeper roofs than shingles do. While the cost of cedar shingles is more budget-friendly, there are many great reasons to choose shakes.

Asking questions before hiring a roofer ensures you receive the best quality for your investment upfront and in the long term. Roofers with minimal experience, unfamiliar with local building codes, or minimal access to great materials can lead to both structural and financial problems down the line. You should also be able to easily communicate and collaborate with your roofer during extensive projects.

The number of snow guards you’ll need on your roof depends on factors like the type of roof you have, its slope, the orientation of your home, and the snow load in your area. A local roofing professional or the snow guard manufacturer can help you determine the ideal amount.

There should be small gaps between your roof and the walls of your home, and other buildings. These small gaps let building materials shift, expand, and contract with weather and other outside forces, and they prevent moisture from wicking down walls from roofing and gutter systems. Without these strategic gaps, your home’s exterior and its finishes can sustain water damage, decay, peel, delaminate, and crack. However, there is a fine line between a smart gap and a problematic gap—all  gaps should be small, intentional, and covered or filled in with foam insulation to prevent pests from using them as access points.
