"Hired for continued service every week. Hired them as replacement to a previous pool maintenance service that I had to continually hunt down and correct issues like my pool getting algae and filter not cleaned. So new hire, so far so good... now going into week 4"

"OP gets the job done! I spent almost 2 weeks looking for a company to fix leaks in spa and skimmer. Everyone would fix skimmer but not spa and estimates were given without looking at damage. Op came out the same day I called and started the next day. We ended up resurfacing after leaks were fixed and i had brand new looking pool within a week. I am very pleased with the end results and the professionalism of this company. Highly recommend."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Whether you can repair a hot tub depends on the severity of the problem and the location. With the right tools and knowledge, you can fix problems like small leaks or switching out a dirty filter. However, electrical and plumbing issues require a licensed professional due to the inherent risk, particularly when mixing water with electricity.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.

When your hot tub is completely dry, there is typically no need to introduce antifreeze into the plumbing. However, if you desire an extra layer of protection against potential freeze damage, you can consider adding some RV antifreeze to your hot tub lines. Just ensure that you use RV antifreeze specifically, as automotive antifreeze is highly toxic and should be avoided.

Using bubble bath, bath oils, bath salts, or moisturizing products that contain butters or oils can damage your jetted tub. Because of the water pump and jet mechanism, you need to be more selective with products for a jetted tub than you would for a traditional bathtub in order to keep it functioning properly and avoid expensive repairs. These products also leave residue that can feed mildew and mold, so it’s best to avoid them.

Most hot tub cracks can be repaired unless they have gone beneath the acrylic. If so, you may need a professional to determine if the crack is repairable or if you should consider hot tub replacement instead.
