"I’ve been a plumbing contractor for 20 years and have known Kyle for 30 years. I had Titan Heating/Kyle recently in my home. We had him replace the a/c system in its entirety. Not only was the job professional, it is hands down the cleanest and tidiest work I’ve seen in my area. It was an honer to have him here and trust him in my home. Having such a skilled tradesman around is comforting thought. Thanks Kyle!!"

"Outside AC unit was making a loud noise when turning off. Scheduled an appoint on their website to get a quote for a new system. Hugh promptly emailed me to schedule an appointment. Got a text and call when Hugh was on the way to my house. He arrived on time and brought tools to investigate my issue. Hugh quickly identified the issue being the fan blades falling apart. No pressure from him to get a new system and instead he recommended fixing the blades to get another season out of it. Hugh was able to quickly find a replacement and worked with me to schedule someone for the next day to replace the blades since it was already late in the day. The next day I got a text and call from Thomas when he was on his way. Thomas showed up on time and got to work. Thomas did an excellent job replacing the blades and cleaning up. The price for the parts and labor was affordable. Both Hugh and Thomas were very friendly, very knowledgeable, and here when they said they would be. Will be recommending them to everyone."

"We were very pleased with the response time and professionalism of the company. We found them to be reliable and trustworthy. They came and diagnose the problem and presented us with different options. Once we decided they were out right away to remove the old system and install the new one in one day. Our experience was excellent, and I highly recommend them."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.

Maintaining your central vacuum cleaner is crucial to extending its lifespan. Ensuring the filter is cleaned or changed often is vital to ensuring clogs don’t impact your motor. In addition, inspecting motor brushes regularly and lubricating the engine when needed helps keep it in tip-top shape. Finally, cleaning the central vacuum hose of dirt and debris helps keep clogs at bay, especially if you’ve vacuumed something wet or sticky.

Before deciding whether or not to install a central vacuum system, consider the pros and cons to determine if it’s right for you.

Pros

  • Increased suction power

  • Improved air quality

  • Reduced noise pollution

  • Longer lifespan than traditional self-contained vacuum units

Cons

  • Higher upfront installation costs

  • Expensive repairs

  • Requires significant storage space

Regular cleaning, sealing, and inspections help identify problems early and maintain aesthetics.
