"Cole came on time and did a wonderful job. He was very attentive to my requests and delivered as promised. He left the place clean after project completion. He went above and beyond and all that… with a big smile. I would hire him again without hesitation. "Brian first repaired a wall in my house that had water damage, then he did a few other jobs such as 2 closet installations, tv installation, pressure washing and a couple of other repair jobs around my house. He seemed extremely skilled and hardworking. He was very personable and courteous, and he’s a Christian, too! He did a great job, I’m very pleased with his work. I highly recommend Totka Construction for carpentry & construction work."

"We hired Earthworm Lawns to install pet-friendly artificial turf in our small backyard. They demonstrated excellent customer service by providing a quote during their first visit and keeping me apprised as materials became available to begin work. Pricing was in line with my expectations. They completed the rather labor-intensive job in just under 5 days. They were careful while working on our property, cleaned up the work area every day and took great care to ensure a beautiful install. I am very pleased with the end result. Thank you Eartworm Lawns for creating a lovely, low-maintenance space for family, fun, and pets."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. Even when it’s not in use, an outlet is still connected to wiring, and if the wiring is faulty or wet, a fire can occur. Broken outlets can also cause fires, for the same reasons; in fact, most broken outlets are broken due to damaged or worn-out wiring. It’s worth replacing outlets that are old or damaged with the help of an electrician.

The most common causes of kitchen fires are leaving cooking food unattended, frying food with excessive amounts of oil, and leaving flammable objects near the stovetop.

Although no heating appliance can be entirely risk-free, a fireplace insert is considered a safer alternative to a traditional open fireplace, thanks to their enclosed design. With a sealed combustion chamber, a fireplace insert effectively reduces the risk of sparks and embers escaping into the room, minimizing the chance of an accidental fire.

Additionally, an insert comes equipped with various safety features, such as tempered glass doors that create a barrier between the flames and the surrounding space. This enhances both safety and energy efficiency by preventing heat loss. As an added bonus, many inserts are designed to meet strict safety standards that ensure proper ventilation and combustion.

If you plan to put a fire pit on a grassy area, be sure to put compacted paver sand down first to help level out the ground and add better heat protection. If you’re placing a fire pit on hardscaping, like a concrete patio, consider placing a fire pit mat down first. This can add more protection from the heat and also protect the look of your hardscaping if you choose to remove the fire pit in the future.

To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning on a propane heater, make sure that your heater is suitable for indoor use. When you run the heater, it should always be in a well-ventilated area with proper air circulation. Installing carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home is also essential. If you have any questions about using a heater indoors, contact a local heating and oil company for more information.
