"If your job requires permit do NOT allow Benj Electric to work on the project before he gets the permit approved. I needed a panel for a mini-split, contacted Benji thru Angi's list. He charged $742 and came to my home to work on the panel. When I asked him about the permit, he said that he would request the permit afterwards, that it wasn't a problem (actually, it's illegal and the city can fine the contractor as well the home owner - I I've learned it the hard way). He then requested the permit, which was declined by the city for an issue was caused by another contractor. The problem was fixed and I contacted Benji asking him to reapply for it, I even offered him to pay any fees incurred. He kept pushing me around for a couple months, only excuses, "I'm busy", "Do it tonight", and so on, then he stopped communicating. Now I'm with an illegal electric panel. How to correct the mess he did? I may have to start from scratch, but this time hiring a reliable professional."

Mr. Sparky came to assess the driveway wires, the general health of the system, & potentially do some separate rewiring. When the technician came, he said it would be $220 to diagnose the driveway wires and ? since it was almost dark ? another $220 to come back the next day & assess the rest of the job. Since the concrete was being poured the next day, I agreed to the first $220, but was bothered that timing meant I would have to pay twice for the assessment. After a few minutes, he said he had found one cut wire. He noticed it ran underground (about 7 feet through brush to a fixture) and said, "I don't dig for $220." That, he said, would be an all-nighter costing $1500. I declined. Plus, there was no low voltage wire on the truck, so they were unprepared for a landscape lighting job. It was a lot of money for very little."

"Terrible service! The electrician came to do a basic job. Not only did he charge 175$ just for a basic diagnosis he said it would cost over 900$ to run one wire to my room. I thanked him for his time and told him to please rewire my room like it was before he came. He was on the phone during the rewiring process and ended up putting two live wires that connected to the outlet together. When the other electrician started working on it there was a small fire that was caused because of this personâ s negligence! Also! The other electrician only charged 100$ to run the same wire! Also the customer service rep that called said she would waive the service fee but the tech said that the fee was being charged. It wasnâ t till I told him that he ended up removing the service fee! Absolute scam!"
