"I couldn’t be happier with the exceptional service I received from Dwight Edwards and his company, Essential Powers LLC.! Dwight assembled and installed (9) ceiling fans in my home flawlessly, and each one looks and functions perfectly. Dwight’s attention to detail really stood out—everything was aligned, balanced, and neatly completed. On top of that, Dwight moved (5) outlets up the wall to accommodate TVs, creating a clean and professional look that really enhanced the space. Dwight is incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, and showed great craftsmanship in every step of the job. What impressed me most was his professionalism—always punctual, respectful of my home, and willing to take the time to answer all of my questions. Dwight even cleaned up thoroughly after finishing, leaving no mess behind. I highly recommend Dwight and his company, Essential Powers, LLC. to anyone looking for top-notch electrical work. His dedication to quality and customer satisfaction is truly unmatched!"

"Benjamin came out quickly to provide a quote for me in having a bathroom exhaust fan installed. He explained my options well. He had a better price than other companies quoted. I can highly recommend Benjamin for electrical service. He is very prompt, friendly, answers any questions, and does a quality job. I'll be sure to use him for some other projects I have coming up."

"Went great. The electrician showed up right on time, reviewed the work and got it done. Fan looks really good. Electrician gave good advice on both a cable matter and whole home surge protection and I am having them come back to install that. (Power surge killed my original rung doorbell it’s last sad picture was of a stormy sky)"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Many ceiling fan-rated electrical boxes tend to be made of metal. However, some electrical boxes may also be made of heavy-duty plastic that is reinforced with metal support structures. It may also have an attachment that connects directly to a ceiling joist. If you are ever ensure, consult with a licensed professional to get their insight on best practices and whether the installation is a safe one.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs.

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.
