"Crew,Mike & Riley shows up on time ready to go to work. We go over work with them and they did already know what the job was. Mike worked on moving the light switches while Riley started on removing old kitchen ceiling lights and installing new LED can lights & a new pendant light over sink. All work was completed by lunch time and professional done. Loved working with power usa. The people are always easy to work with and they will explain things to so even I can understand how it works. I have used this company several times since moving to Florida a year and 1/2 ago."

"Ben installed 2 "fandeliers" in the bedrooms. He was on time and very professional. He took old fans to dispose of them. Very knowledgeable, answered all our questions. Friendly, personable and was able to do the job immediately. Will be hiring him again for our next project."

"Went great. The electrician showed up right on time, reviewed the work and got it done. Fan looks really good. Electrician gave good advice on both a cable matter and whole home surge protection and I am having them come back to install that. (Power surge killed my original rung doorbell it’s last sad picture was of a stormy sky)"

"This is the best experience I've had with a contractor to do work at my home. I had a brand new build home and he installed 7 fans and wired doorbell. He was extremely friendly, flexible on my schedule, affordable, and did exceptional work. He left no mess and hauled away all the boxes and packaging. I highly highly highly recommend for any electrical work you need done. He is underrated and will impress you!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

Installing a ceiling fan where no wiring exists is a difficult and potentially dangerous job that should not be attempted as a DIY project. It is recommended to hire a certified electrician to build the necessary electrical infrastructure. In some areas, building codes require this work to be done by a professional to ensure safety and compliance. Due to the complexity, this type of installation is a significant job that could cost up to $2,000.

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.

Ceiling fans can be a great way to cool your home without the expensive utility bill of running an air conditioner. Plus, ceiling fans can sometimes run in both directions, pushing hot air down in winter and pulling cold air up in summer. With that said, air conditioning might be the only thing that helps if you live in a very warm climate.
