"Only did about one third of the work- could not complete without me signing a waiver relieving them of any damage done to my pool surface. This was not mentioned until after approximately one third or less of the work was completed. Management was condescending and unwilling to negotiate as they wanted half of the contracted money and barely completed one third of the contract. None of the issues we hired them to correct were fixed and I have zero confidence the pool deck is actually stabilized as they claim since the technician stated to me the day he was there that he could not complete stabilization without injecting more foam which he could not do without possibly damaging the surface of my pool. After paying them more than $3,200.00 it looks worse than it did before they showed up. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!"

"Hydrotech pools refinished our pool white pool to a light blue. Their site describes a first rate process and guarantees excellent results. We noticed immediately that the pool had very poor coverage as the old finish showed through in multiple areas. Photos were sent to Damian and he promised to come out and refinish appropriately. The attached photos show the very poor quality result. After stringing us along for more than a year, I have finally decided to post a review describing the poor quality job and the utter lack of customer service. We have been attempting to communicate with Damian regularly for more than a year and he has had ample opportunity to make the job right. The company claims to be a reputable company, however the treatment we have had from Damian at Hydrotech pools is very unprofessional and shameful."

If you're only working with a gravel pad, and there is no concrete foundation, you might be able to upgrade to a concrete slab, but you’d have to speak with a professional concrete expert to confirm and get pricing. If you have a concrete foundation or cement block walls around the area where you want to build flooring, you might be able to pour a new concrete floor over the existing one to forgo repairs. In terms of durability, concrete driveways can last more than 50 years when properly maintained, compared to the typical 30 years for an asphalt driveway. However, the durability depends on the climate, base material and thickness, and thickness of the concrete or asphalt used. The longevity of concrete or asphalt driveways also depends on how well it’s maintained and the amount of wear and tear it endures.

Unfortunately, concrete cracks happen, so there’s no surefire way to avoid them long-term. To slow down the cracking, apply a sealant every two to three years and use sand rather than salt to melt snow or ice. Using salt speeds up the freeze-thaw cycle, which may increase the likelihood of cracking. Additionally, keep vehicles and heavy machinery off of your concrete, as the weight can lead to more cracking.

Vinyl fence posts need concrete for longevity and stability. Later on, if a fence post is loose, you may be able to use expandable foam to repair the post. Expandable post foam works well for repairs or temporary fences. But when it comes to initially installing the post, always use concrete for the best results.

In most cases, you’ll want your patio to be 4 inches thick, although you should add reinforcement and increase the thickness up to around 8 inches if you want it to support heavier loads and resist cracking more readily. Although thicker slabs will cost more, you’ll start seeing diminishing returns at around 6 inches.
