"I couldn't be more impressed with the service we received on our gas furnace repair. From the moment Kyle arrived, he was professional, courteous, and clearly knew his stuff. He took the time to walk me through exactly what was wrong, what he was doing to fix it, and what to watch for going forward, which I really appreciated. He made sure I understood everything before he left and answered every question we had with patience and expertise. Highly recommend — if you need HVAC work done, this is who you call."

"CB gives great and definitely honest prices. They arrived on time and got to work. Installed a 50 AMP RV outlet on the side of the house. Great job and it aligns with everything already there. You best give him a call if need any electrical work done. CB and his team get it done right...ran the wiring from the circuit breaker box up inside the wall through the attic to the eves on the opposite side of the house. Very happy with that. Mark P. Navarre FL."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

British architect John Nash is credited with creating the Italianate style of architecture. The style was further popularized in the U.S. by landscape architect Andrew Jackson Downing and architect Calvert Vaux. The style spread across the U.S. due to Downing’s popular book on the style and the availability of plans and materials due to the mass production of the Industrial Revolution.

When planning a general remodeling project, it's important to define the scope of work, understand your goals, and set a clear, detailed budget. You should also assess the current structure and consult with professionals like architects or contractors. Create a realistic timeline for each phase, obtain any necessary permits, and build in contingency plans for potential delays or unforeseen issues. Regular communication with all involved parties is crucial to streamline the process.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.

Aging-in-place universal design features can make your home more comfortable for family members who are older or have disabilities; they can also make your home safer. In addition, adding a universal-design bathroom can boost your home’s overall resale value.
