From the design phase to completion, and after, Jansen has been extremely professional. The quality of work is excellent, and they stand behind their work months after the project is complete. We had a couple of minor issues, and they were corrected without hesitation. All of the Jansen employees and subcontractors were friendly and clean up after themselves each day.

Their price was significantly lower than the other two bids we received. The shower surround looks very good and was (as far as we can tell) perfectly installed. The installer was knowledgeable and concerned enough to convince us we made a mistake when we stipulated the way the door opened. He was right. While the representative was on site to take the shower measurements, I got a quote from him to cut a glass top for a desk. The cost was half what I was expecting after doing some online shopping and the top is exactly what I needed. Again, the installer knew his business and corrected the mistake I made using Pledge to clean the desk before he arrived. Who knew furniture cleaners emit a gas that can permanently ruin glass?

Our project manager was Chad Smith. He was attentive and sensitive to our needs as homeowners who must live in the home while it is being remodeled. He seems to run a tight ship with regard to scheduling, and made sure that there was very little, if any, down-time once the project began. He visited often to check on the workmanship, and is very knowledgeable about how things should be done and how they should look. All the demolition, repairs and restructuring were expertly done by skilled employees who know what they are doing and do it well. One of the many benefits of having a remodel done by Jansen's is that they order the cabinets from a superior cabinet maker, Starmark Cabinetry in our case, and the quality of the cabinets will not disappoint. It takes approximately 6 weeks for the cabinets to be custom made and shipped from Starmark's factory in South Dakota. Jansen does not schedule the project to begin until the cabinets have arrived and are stored in their warehouse.

We chose maple cabinetry in a Villa Ivory finish that is beautiful and appears to be quite durable. We opted for tile that looks exactly like dark wood flooring, and chose a tile backsplash that brings together the colors of the cabinetry, the granite countertops, the flooring and the stainless steel appliances. Our new kitchen includes a chimney type stainless stove hood that is vented through the attic and out the roof. All the walls in the foyer, living room and kitchen were painted by one of Jansen's professional painters with colors that we chose.

Our project took about 4 weeks. We understand that many kitchen projects, depending on size, take longer. If you must live in your home during a remodeling project, be prepared for a lot of dust. This is especially true when tile has to be removed. Jansen's makes every effort to confine and remove the dust as quickly as possible, but it will penetrate through the HVAC system no matter how many plastic sheet barriers are erected. Your normal life WILL be disrupted during the project and there is no way to get out of that. Chad Smith, our project manager, showed great understanding of the homeowner's dilemma and made sure that all employees clean up the area before leaving each day. The employees of Jansen's Quality Construction create quality in everything that they do. You will not get a cut-rate price, nor will you get a cut-rate job. What you will receive is a lot of focus on detail and on making sure that you are pleased with your remodel. We are thrilled with the final result, and are now able to enjoy a new, beautiful, and user-friendly kitchen.

JQC helped me to find a new layout for my kitchen that would make my entire home look larger. When I explained my budget, they helped me find a quality brand that was having a special sale. They took out my old cabinets and hauled them away. The new cabinets were so AMAZING with all of the bells and whistles. Not long ago, I sold my home and the first person to look at it purchased it, she said the kitchen sold her!

The Jansen staff were uniformly pleasant and professional. The work was excellent. Once all the materials were in hand, they began work promptly. Showed up when they said they would and finished on time and on budget.
The people who did the work, particularly DJ, were focused on doing high quality work. If something was not up to their standards, they took it out and started over. At least once, I couldn't see that there was anything amiss, but they took it out and started over anyway. They were very diligent in their work and trustworthy. It only took a couple of days for us to be comfortable leaving them alone in the house for hours at a time.
While everyone else was great, we had a lot of trouble with Sarah Bowman, one of the designers. She was perfectly happy to do or order whatever we wanted, but she was rarely able to provide suggestions. When asked about a style of faucet her response, which was common, was, and quot;Iand quot;m sure whatever you choose will look great.and quot; Not helpful. She also had trouble order parts correctly the first time. We ended up with some wrong parts and too many of some parts. It doesn't feel that she is very good with details.
We also had a problem with the master bath vanity she ordered. It was our fault for not checking her work before the order was finalized. That was done before we realized she had a problem. She ordered a vanity that had the sinks placed so close to the edge of the space, that I could not stand in front of the sink because my shoulder was up against the wall. She didn't think that was a problem. We had to order a different vanity. Jansen was unwilling to refund the cost of the first vanity. They did agree to sell both vanities to us at their cost. We donated the first, new, unused vanity to the Habitat for Humanity Restore. At least we can get a tax deduction for it.
We have had a couple minor follow-up items since they finished the work. They have come out promptly and fixed the issues - they were minor, afterall, in one visit.
Despite our difficulties with Sarah, we can highly recommend Jansen because of the quality of the work that was done. As an added bonus, they were not the most expensive proposal we received. Nor was it the least expensive.

The bathroom was completely planned with a designer who helped choose tile, some fixtures and paint color. I met several times with the designer and job foreman to review progress and decide on fixture placement, tile configuration and wall color. They helped with all the small details that I had not even thought of. The process was stress free. The result is a beautiful bathroom which we will enjoy for many years and which will add value to our home.

I hired Jansen based on previous reviews and a recommendation from Fergusson Enterprises. I needed them to set a tub that had been improperly set by a previous contractor.
I did have some problems with the communications loop in the office, to the point where I almost went somewhere else. However, I am glad that I did not as the plumber they sent out was absolutely fantastic. He showed up bright and early at 8AM ready to get to work, was pleasant and polite, and got the job done promptly. I was completely paranoid as I had just been badly burned by another contractor and he satisfied in all respects.
Just be persistent about calling back and actually getting an appointment and there should be no problems with these folks.

I can't say enough good things about the experience we had using Jansen Quality Construction. They were very professional, did exactly what they were here to do, courteous, cleaned up from their work, and very pleasant to work with. They did not have the piece of granite I wanted in stock so they sent me to a place in Alabama to have more selection. Once I found what I wanted they took over from there to order the granite. When they received the granite, they asked me to come check to be surethat they were the correct pieces and suggested that we send for another piece that would match better. They did that and it was a better match. They were very careful to measure precisely and when one piece would not fit correctly in a corner, they advised us that it would be better to come back so it would be right. They did just that. They took care of ordering our faucet and the garbage disposal and since they are contractors, they were able to reconnect the cooktop without having to have another party involved. We selected them, not only because they gave us a good estimate, but also because we could get everything done without having to have a plumber and an electrician come in after they installed the granite. It was all done in essentially one day (except for the return for the one little area that did not fit). We would definitely use them again if we wanted to have any other work in the remodeling area done. It was a very pleasant experience from start (in the showroom) to finish. They are good people to work with.

Visited showroom, viewed various shower products and materials, selected choice of materials to be used for walls, base, doors, seat, and shower fixtures. Written estimate provided the following day. Lead time on all materials was estimated at a two week time. Materials were received within estimated planned time and installation schedule was then confirmed. Project took 3 days to complete which included removal of old equipment, installation of complete shower assembly, installation of tile floors in both baths and kitchen. Price did not include purchase of the floor tile which I had purchased previously from another retailer. Additionally contractor ( I purchased) installed quarter round molding in the entire house.

New Kitchen design was excellent , but the construction planning was not very thorough. To much of the initial construction planning and estimating was left to the kitchen designer who was not very adept at estimating and planning. This caused acute problems midway through the renovation process. The job was intended to be a turn-key project with the initial agreed to contract price as the actual cost. Unfortunately, the contractor's designer had under-estimated some costs and Jansen wanted to pass these increases along to me ( The Purchaser). The project was stopped mid-stream and a meeting was held with Mr. Jansen to resolve these differences. They were very co-operative and reasonable and a accepted the consequences of their cost over-runs. The meeting concluded with a new agreement by both parties and the job continued without any problems to the finish. This was an unfortunate situation in that the companies problematic internal administrative procedures caused an unsatisfactory performance. Other than internal problems at the time, the work crews that performed the renovation were highly professional, courteous and highly skilled. Overall, I would recommend this vendor with a word of caution that the buyer be advised of the materials needed and informed of the construction process upon completion of the pre-construction planning .The Buyer should require that Mr. Jansen be a signature to the agreed contract proposal before signing and commencing construction. This vendor is a bit more expensive than their competition, but you can expect a high quality finished product.
