"They were immediately responsive to my request for an estimate. Their price was a fair market value for the work performed. The finished product is high quality workmanship and we are very pleased with the new patio and driveway. They spent considerable time preparing the base for the pavers so we have great confidence that the decks will hold up for years to come. Rafael and his crew were very accommodating to changes during the project. Project scope changes were priced out at the same rate as the original project. Any concerns or questions we had about the installation were addressed immediately and in some instances, we felt Rafael went above and beyond our expectations to address the concern. The only reason for the B rating on Punctuality is that we would have preferred communication updates on days and times that they were going to arrive to work. Otherwise, we consider Perfect Way Pavers an excellent company and highly recommend their service."

"Central Florida Stucco & Masonry & Repaired did a great job to removed/demo existing wood siding on the second floor of our home, then wrap the walls with house wrap and wire lathe, and applied 3 coats of stucco. I would recommend them and use them again."

"The front area of the place that I live needed beautification. It needed wood chips, plants and flowers to make it look like a real home. The gentlemen from Lion Heart Home Improvement made the vision that I had for the area a reality. They arranged flowers and plants in a way that makes the area stand out. They went above and beyond what was required. They picked plants that complimented the ones that I'd already selected. The gentlemen from Lion Heart Home Improvement were extremely courteous and prompt. They made sure that I was satisfied with the work from start to finish. Their prices are very reasonable, and the service is the best! I highly recommend Lion Heart Home Improvement! I look forward to hiring them again for my next project!"

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:

  • Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris

  • Help prevent chimney fires

  • Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture

  • Maintain your chimney flue liner

  • Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature

No, not all chimneys need a damper. However, most chimneys do, especially in newer homes. Most gas-burning fireplaces cannot function safely without a damper. Only some older wood-burning fireplaces can function safely without one. A chimney without a damper is essentially just an open hole in the roof of your home.

When your fireplace is not in use for longer periods of time, such as over the summer, you can keep smells at bay by spraying either a commercial fireplace deodorizing product or a blend of one part distilled white vinegar to one part water around the walls of the fireplace.

Or, you can place a container of charcoal inside the fireplace to absorb odors. Just be sure to remove it before it’s time to start using the fireplace again.

This happens when condensation forms due to your room temperature being lower than its dew point. You can clean the glass with a combination of baking soda, vinegar, and warm water to wipe away the fog from the doors.

You should only use water to put out a fire in your fireplace in an emergency situation. Even then, it is better to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire quickly. Make sure every room in your house that has a fireplace also has a fire extinguisher—and that everyone in your household knows how to use one.
