"Master Movers - very professional, careful, thorough and personable. This goes not only for Colin, the driver, but the whole four-man crew. They handled the furniture with care, carefully wrapping most for storage. Likewise, our delicate and valued items were carefully wrapped and boxed. We have moved several times. This was, without a doubt, the best, smoothest and most professional move we've ever had."

"Everything was perfect. Movers were able to show up for a "last minute" move. They were not only on time, but early. Got the job done quickly. Wrapped everything for the move. I was going to do the move myself, however, after this experience, I was so pleased, why put myself through all that work. And the cost was far below what other movers wanted. Cut rate price for top rated movers!!!"

"We were moving furniture only from a 1-bedroom apartment within town, so expected the move to take about 3 hours at most. Of all the quotes we received, Premium Q was the only company that estimated the move to take 3 hours, all others estimated 5+. Their price was competitive, and their time estimate aligned more with what we expected than other companies. The move itself went great - the 3-person team did a great job covering the furniture and worked very quickly while being careful with the furniture (and were careful about not hitting walls around tight corners when unloading the furniture). Everybody was nice and easy to work with. The move ended up taking about as long as Premium Q estimated (2 hours 45 minutes instead of 3 hours) so ended up costing less than the quoted price, and we were happy to have gone with them."

"We were extremely busy leading up to our move and simply could not have done it without White Glove Moving. They packed all of our belongings and safely moved them to our new apartment. I was blown away by how quickly they worked! The extra packing service was well worth it, and now that I’ve experienced it, I can’t imagine moving any other way."

"We had a great experience with Jochas moving company. My mother-in-law previously used Jochas to move her garage and patio furniture to a new place and they were complete with their project in under an hour! She referred the company to us for an efficient and budget-friendly moving solution and I am so glad she did. It took just under three hours for the three movers to load the moving truck with our furniture and belongs, travel 10 miles north, and unload our items. I am halfway through unpacking and nothing has been broken or damaged from the move. Dave was our lead team member and we also had Charles and Gyasi to help us move. They were professional and very kind. Thank you!"

"It went as well as it could have gone. The two movers, Evan and Dominic, were extremely professional, courteous, and helpful. They did a great job moving four rooms of furniture, and I highly recommend them and the company, Start Moving. Total cost for 2 hours 45 minutes, $378.00. I gave the two guys a $60 tip. I thought they did a great job. Extremely satisfied customer.

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Movers are very skilled in everything having to do with the moving process. From knowing which supplies and materials to use for certain items, to packing, to knowing how to efficiently load a truck, they have experience doing it all. And professional movers often do it all faster and more efficiently than a typical homeowner could.

Planning ahead is essential—this will give you the chance to coordinate your move during weekends or after business hours, and set up essential services in your new office before moving day to minimize downtime. Start by creating a detailed timeline and checklist for every phase of the move, from packing to unpacking. Inform your employees, clients, and vendors about the move well in advance, including any expected disruptions and how you plan to manage them. Delegate responsibilities to ensure all aspects of the move are covered. Lastly, set up the essentials at the new location first to resume operations quickly.

It is best to book a moving company two to three months before your move-out date. This provides enough time to compare rates, organize your belongings, and find an available crew for your desired day and time. While you might find movers with only one or two weeks' notice, some companies require booking up to 90 days in advance.

Planning ahead is especially important if you're moving during the busy summer season when demand is highest. Summer weekends, in particular, book up quickly. Securing your movers well in advance helps you avoid the stress and potential extra fees of last-minute arrangements.

Yes, moving a piano often causes it to become out of tune, even if you're not moving the piano very far. One reason is that any temperature and humidity changes can affect a piano's tuning. Additionally, the bumps and jolts from a moving truck usually push a piano out of tune.

However, don't jump right to tuning it once the piano gets to your new home. Instead, it's best to wait at least two weeks for the instrument to acclimate to its new environment. After a couple weeks, you'll get an idea of what the piano will really sound like in its new home, at which point you can call a piano technician to get it properly tuned.

Old pianos can be hard to sell for a few reasons. Pianos fifty years or older may only sell for several hundred dollars and will often cost more to transport to the new owners. Restoring a piano also costs well into the thousands, making it pretty hard to make your money back. In most cases, donating or recycling the parts of a piano is more cost-efficient and beneficial in the long run.
