"Absolutely AMAZING work!! Beyond anything I would have imagined!!! The professionalism and efficiency of the entire experience starting with the Project Managers Otto Boy and Nick Barker through the actual installation with John and Jimmy were exceptional!! The work was performed with excellence. They had to replace the air handler that had rust and wood rot from water damage with the old unit. And their work was absolutely first rate!! They cleaned up the entire area of all debris. I can’t thank ServiceOne enough for the quality of workmanship and service. I’ve already referred a friend. I’m a customer for life!"

"Mr. Rooter of St. Augustine is punctual and fast. He found the problem right away, fixed it. The price was reasonable. He pulled the carpet and followed the trail of moisture to the sink, turned on the faucet and knew exactly that it was a slow leaking drain basket in the kitchen. When I called he was here within 30 min."

"Steve was very prompt with his response to my initial inquiry and setting up a visit for the estimate. The work was able to be completed much more quickly than I had anticipated, and done well. We had 2 levels of gutters cleaned out- some had plant shoots growing out of them (ugh). We have a lengthy stone retaining wall which was quite mossy. Now we can see the actual stone . It looks brand new! We will definitely use them again."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Start by calling a plumber if you want to install a sump pump battery backup. Talk to them about your situation and needs. Sometimes, electricians or waterproofing contractors will install a battery backup, and in that case, the plumber you call should be able to point you in the right direction.

Pooling or standing water in your basement should be cause for alarm and action. This indicates that there is a leak or a drainage issue, and until you repair the root of the problem, the situation will only happen again or grow in severity. It’s important to deal with water damage as soon as it occurs.

No, you can’t drain your sump pump into your home’s sewer system. In fact, it’s against the law in many places because dumping extra water into a municipal water system can disrupt or overwhelm the treatment process. And for similar reasons, you shouldn’t discharge a sump pump into your septic system, either.

Sump pumps remove excess water from the lowest point of your home, which prevents flooding. When a sump pit fills with water, a sump pump pushes that water outside of the basin and into an exterior discharge pipe. From there, the water flows away from your home, so it doesn’t damage your foundation.

Ideally, your sump pump discharge should run down a natural downhill slope 10 to 20 feet away from your home’s foundation. However, if your property is naturally flat, that might not be an option. Instead, you may be able to discharge it into a neighborhood storm drain or a nearby creek or pond. If that’s not possible, consider burying it underground.
