"We got delayed by the constant rains earlier in the year, but as soon as he could get to us Roberto and his crew did the work. It looks great and is exactly what we wanted. Gates work well and it has made an enormous difference to the look of our yard. Roberto took care of the permit for us and is knowledgeable about relevant codes. He was able to walk me through the process and make it as easy as permitting can be. We are very happy with the result!"

"The technician came on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. The batteries were replaced but later were found to be defective and the tech came back out, replaced them and rechecked everything else at no charge ( for the second visit). Another issue came up with the gate staying open and a third visit was done in a timely manner and the problem identified as a short in the "ground loop wire". Since I elected to disconnect this accessory feature, rather than replace it, the gate technician didn't charge me for the visit. While he was here, he programmed my garage door opener for me as well. The technician (Dan) is always on time, even a little early, and is very knowledgeable about the equipment he services. The office staff are friendly and helpful as well. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing repairs of garage doors or gates.

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

Features include automation, intercoms, keypads, and decorative elements. Custom options enhance security and style.

Your gate should be 3/4 to an inch smaller than the opening. The opening size that you need for your gate can vary depending on your hinge type. You may also need to add reinforcing braces if the gap between your gate and the fence is not uniform from top to bottom.

A sliding gate, or a sliding gate door, is a versatile gate system used for various applications. Sliding gate mechanisms allow the gate to move horizontally along a track or guide system when opened or closed. They come in multiple types, including sliding folding gates, telescopic gates, cantilever gates, and track sliding gates. These gates are known for their durability, ease of installation, and user-friendly operation, making them popular for property access and security.

The cost to install a gate varies widely, with a typical range between $1,500 and $7,000. The average cost is around $3,500. However, the final price can be as low as $200 for a simple gate or as high as $12,000 for a large, automated security gate.

Key factors that determine the installation cost include:

  • Gate Material: This is a primary cost factor. Chain-link and vinyl are the most affordable, while wood and PVC are mid-range options. Wrought iron, aluminum, and other metals are the most expensive materials.

  • Automation: Automated gates are significantly more expensive than manual ones because they require motors, sensors, controls, and electrical installation.

  • Size and Type: The dimensions and style of the gate (e.g., swinging vs. sliding) will impact the price.

  • Security Level: Gates with advanced security features will increase the overall cost.

When choosing a driveway gate, consider the fence material, whether you want an automatic gate or a manual one, and property limitations like the slope of your driveway. We recommend speaking with a professional driveway gate installer to see what types of gates will work on your property based on your fencing or home’s exterior. Keep in mind that driveway gates should range between 10 to 12 feet wide to ensure cars can easily maneuver through the gateway.
