Customers say: Quality work

"Ron and his crew have come by 4 times so far, to do various quick handyman type fixes. They were always courteous, confirming appointments, and arriving on time. The most important thing, because my condo is 50 years old, is that he gave me a different choices to accomplish each of the fixes. They did great work and his rates are very reasonable!"

Small jobs welcome

"Terry was the best handyman I have encountered to do work here at my home. He arrived on time, listened attentively to what I needed done and assured me that he could handle it efficiently. And that he did. The jobs I had for him were done with acumen and expeditiously with cleanup at the end. His personality was very warming and made you feel comfortable having a stranger in your home. He will be my handyman for future jobs here, and I will feel comfortable recommending him to my friends."

"Kevin is the most honest Handyman I have worked with personally. Even though I had a very small job he still came out of his way to look at it and gave me honest feedback about other pending jobs. He definitely values customer service, and I would recommend him."

"Marius, the repair man, really takes pride of his work and work ethics. His phone calls and appointments were prompt and on time as promised. The glass window was expertly repaired and he did a nice job cleaning up upon completion. I will be happy to contact him in the future for any handyman job that he says he can do."

Handyman Services questions, answered by experts

You can tackle hanging Christmas lights yourself with the right tools, accessories, and a trusted friend or neighbor. You’ll need to purchase a ladder ($100 to $300), clips ($10 to $20), hooks ($10 to $15), and lights ($25 to $100 per string).

Otherwise, you should hire a trusted holiday light installer near you. You’ll pay an average price of $200 to $650, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and safely.

Tipping contractors, builders, or general contractors is not customary or expected. Unlike many service professions where tipping is built into the payment structure, construction professionals typically charge a full rate for their services. However, you may choose to tip a worker for exceptional service, such as if they go above and beyond, stay late to meet a deadline, or work on a holiday weekend. Before offering a tip, it's a good idea to ask about the company's policy, as some prohibit their employees from accepting gratuities. If you want to show your appreciation for a job well done without giving a cash tip, consider writing a positive online review or offering to serve as a reference for potential new customers.

Before hiring a handyperson, it's important to ask several questions to ensure they are the right fit for the job. Key areas to cover include their experience, logistics, and job specifics.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • What kind of work do you specialize in?

  • How long have you been doing this kind of work?

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you have references?

  • Can you provide before-and-after photos of your work?

Estimates and Contracts:

  • Do you charge for estimates?

  • Will you provide a written estimate and contract?

  • Does the estimate cover both labor and materials?

  • How much do you expect materials to cost?

Project Details and Guarantees:

  • When can you start the job, and how long do you expect it to take?

  • Do you provide a guarantee for your work?

  • Will you handle cleanup and waste disposal after the job is finished?

  • Do you have any questions about the projects on my list?

Yes, many repair services include blade sharpening as part of the maintenance package.

A handyperson is the professional term used to describe professional fixers who can tackle a wide range of general home repairs. Some pros may prefer to use the term handyworker, handyman, or handywoman, so we recommend politely asking your pro how they would like you to identify them during the project.
