"We inquired about this company from seeing neighbors using his service. We received a quote and instantly hired him to lift our oak trees, and Hurricane cut our palm trees. Not only was the price very reasonable, but the quality, professionalism, cleanup for exceeded all expectations. Would recommend to family and friends."

"The crew that came to trim our tree was very efficient. We needed a tree trimming company that would climb our tree to trim certain branches. We did not have room for heavy equipment and it was hard to find what we were looking for in a tree service. Down Home Quality Tree Service sent out a crew that had an excellent employee who climbed our tree and knew how to use ropes and leverage to cut and lower huge heavy limbs. The employee on the ground knew just what to do to help the climber lower the limbs. There was a third employee who helped by carrying the limbs out to the trailer after the limbs were cut in smaller sections. They went above and beyond! When the crew left my yard it looked as if no one had been working back there, but the two trees that were trimmed looked fantastic! Quick, safe, efficient and neat. I would definitely use and recommend Down Home Quality Tree Service, again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

In Ocala, homeowners may encounter extra costs related to permit application fees, stump removal, or hauling debris from difficult locations. Tree work near utility lines often requires coordination with utility companies, which can add complexity. Emergency services after storms may involve additional steps. According to the Ocala Planning & Zoning Department, projects requiring root barriers or soil restoration may also involve further expenses beyond standard tree removal.

Helpful?

In Ocala, a permit is required for removing most trees with a trunk diameter greater than six inches, and certain protected species have stricter regulations. Before starting any tree work, consult the Ocala Planning & Zoning Department to confirm requirements and identify protected trees. Residents in homeowners associations should also review HOA guidelines, as additional rules may apply. Emergency removals after storms may be expedited but still require notification.

Helpful?

In Ocala, safety during tree service involves wearing protective gear such as helmets, gloves, and safety glasses, and always inspecting for overhead power lines. It's essential to call 811 to locate underground utilities before digging. The Ocala Planning & Zoning Department recommends establishing a secure work zone and using only trained professionals for climbing or operating equipment, especially during unpredictable weather or after storms.

Helpful?

In Ocala, choose a tree service provider with active liability insurance, strong local references, and certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist. Request written estimates and confirm experience with native tree species and local regulations. The Ocala Planning & Zoning Department advises avoiding contractors who solicit door-to-door, demand full payment upfront, or offer unusually low bids, as these can be warning signs of unreliable service.

Helpful?

In Ocala, follow-up after tree service includes annual inspections for mature trees and pruning every two to three years, depending on the species. Palm trees may require more frequent trimming, while valuable or historic trees benefit from periodic fertilization. The Ocala Planning & Zoning Department recommends removing dead branches and monitoring for pests or disease. Consistent maintenance helps keep your landscape healthy and resilient against severe weather.
