"It went very well. Kevin did a very careful and professional job and took his time to do it right. The tile work came out very nice. I will hire Kevin again to install the same tile on the other bedroom floors."

Small jobs welcome

"Angelo was exceptional from the first phone call to the final completion of the job. I needed some drywall repair where the air conditioner installer had removed part of the door jamb so the new air handler would fit into the closet. Angelo quickly scoped the work that needed to be done while on the phone, came to my home the next morning at the time promised, worked quickly and did a very nice job fixing the drywall. It was all done, dry and smooth within a few hours. It looked great! He was very cordial and a gentleman during the entire process. I will definitely hire him again."

"Jerry is my friendly neighborhood handy dude. I schedule him every few months to work on all those house projects that need to be done that I never make the time to do myself: replace ceiling fan, repair minor roof leak, hang curtain rods, install pet gates, install motion lights, paint, install mailbox, fix toilet leak....the list goes on. Jerry and his teammate are down to earth and fun to have on-site. They get my hit list completed very efficiently, as they divide and conquer on tasks that don't require two people. I'm always happy at the end of their visit with all that they get done, and my home looks so much better after each visit. Bonus: Jerry makes great and affordable decorating suggestions that make the end result so much better than my original idea. I appreciate that he always has his consulting hat on when tackling my mini-projects."

"The job was done with expertise and care. We stayed as repair was done with a covered section to keep any hazards in. We were amazed how wonderful the wall and ceiling looked after repair and painting along with baseboard was completed. Total clean up after work was thru. We were so satisfied with the whole experience and would hire them again and recommend them to all. Best prices too!!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

According to the National Fire Protection Association, dryers and washing machines cause over 15,000 fires a year, with dryers causing about 92 percent of those fires. Because dryer fires are more common than you might think, it’s important to clear the lint trap regularly and have annual dryer vent cleanings.

Yes, you need to leave your chimney damper open when burning a creosote log so that smoke and other debris doesn’t waft into your house as it’s burning. You’ll need to make sure your damper is fully open, even when the log continues to smoke, until it’s completely out and cold.

While a hot fire can help heat up and loosen tar within your chimney, making it a recommended step before using a creosote log, it will not burn off significant existing buildup on its own. Attempting to remove built-up creosote with a hot fire is dangerous and can cause a chimney fire. For safe and effective removal of caked-on creosote, the best approach is to hire a professional chimney sweep.

A spark arrestor is not the same as a chimney cap. Both sit on the top of the chimney. However, the cap keeps debris from entering the chimney, and the spark arrestor’s primary function is to prevent burning embers from escaping. Some spark arrestors are integrated into the chimney cap, and others are installed separately.

While your municipality may have its own regulations requiring pergolas or other structures to be a certain height above a fire pit, the standard recommendation is that the pergola should be at least 10 feet above the fire pit. A taller pergola allows the heat from the flames to dissipate before reaching the structure.
