"The chimney sweep cleaning went very well. The entire chimney was swept and vacuumed and a safety inspection was completed. The chimney tech was very helpful and answered all questions."

"Excellent as always. Hunter and Brandon showed up at my house right on time. They were extremely personal and professional. They went the extra mile because it turns out that our dryer was not blowing out of the house through a vent but was just blowing up to the attic. Hunter climbed up into the attic and found the issue and made some improvements and both he and Brandon made recommendations on what could be done to fix the issue completely. The dryer runs much better now. I've used them for chimney sweeping in the past and recommend their service 100%. Thank you"

"100% satisfied with the work done by Supreme Brick & Chimney. Josh responded to my Angi request very quickly and squeezed our house into his schedule only a couple business days out. The chimney cleaning process was extremely clean with ZERO dirt going anywhere besides in Josh's vacuum. Very friendly and happy to answer questions while offering service at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be returning for future chimney and fireplace work."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"They closed any openings in the attic. They would have caught any critters, but they put something on it so that the critters would leave and not come back in; that actually worked. They were very friendly, knew what they were talking about and got the job done. I did not do that much comparison shopping, so I don’t know if I could have gotten the job done for lesser, but their price seemed really high. When the guy came back to do something else, he got on the roof without telling me, which made me think that a burglar was in my house and nearly gave me a heart attack. I would not complain about the quality of the service, but it would have been very nice if he would have let me know before he went up on the roof. They got what I wanted done. They also ordered and installed a chimney cap for me, so that was good. I would use them again in the future if necessary."

"Had already gotten some other estimates from other companies, but upon asking further questions, they disappeared. Solarshield came out when they said, gave an estimate and estimated time to start which was just about when I had wanted to have it done - before hurricane season. Frank the owner was out there too, he and the crew answered all my questions. These guys pay attention to details too. They put tarps all around the house to catch as much of the roof debris as possible. My fascia board was rather discolored, so they even cleaned that while the drip edge was off the roof. Also another detail, when they finished the roof, they got matching paint to paint the new j-vent for the stove vent, the sewer gas vents, and the metal chimney. It took about 5 days (all together) to redo my roof. This was a complete strip down, wind mitigation rehab, with the new standing seam covered screw metal roof with one valley, five hips and two ridge vents. There was only one very small leak at the chimney, when I called, Frank came out to fix it. After that, we had 3 tropical systems come calling (one with 6" of rain!) and not a leak to be seen. Solarshield supplied pictures and documents of the wind mit items (duplicates) for insurance and with my next renewal, my insurance premium went down by at least 30% just due to the new roof! If you are on the fence about getting a metal roof, do it if you can manage the slight extra cost. I believe that in the next few years, benefits from reduced insurance, reduced electric bills, eventual set up of solar on the roof without having to reroof again any time soon afterwards, and peace of mind will pay off greatly. I won't have to worry about the roof during my retirement!"

"I owned a house that was built in 1969 and re roofed in 2000 with an Altusa clay tile roof.  In 2011, I noticed staining on the ceilings in a few rooms.  I attempted to locate the source of the leak in the attic myself but I was unable to do so.
I called a number of roofing companies before Thunder bay.  All they did was look at the inside of the house and quote a price.  Not one of them even went up on the roof to inspect.  Most of them canceled more than once before showing up or showed up late.
Thunder Bay was able to meet me early before I went to work, they showed up right on time to inspect the problem.  Thunder Bay immediately went up on the roof.  I was concerned they might break some of the fragile clay tiles, but they knew exactly how to walk across them without damaging them.  Much to my surprise I was invited me to come up on the roof and inspect along with Thunder Bay.  They showed me how to walk the tiles without damaging them too.  I looked over their shoulder as they inspected the entire roof and he explained where and why it was leaking.  They also showed me some areas that were not done properly when the roof was redone in 2000 and were vulnerable to leaking.
Because their inspection was so thorough, I was expecting their bid would be the highest for the job.  I was pleasantly surprised when I found it was actually the least expensive bid of the 4 bids I got!
In 2012, I asked Thunder Bay to bid on putting a new concrete tile roof on a new home I was building.  Their bid was competitive, but was about three thousand dollars more than another reputable roofer's, so I did not go with Thunder Bay.  What a mistake that was!  The roofer I chose created nothing but problems.  His crew didnt speak any English.  They were unspervised.  They took out part of the roof to put the "peel and stick" waterproofing membane down because they didnt have a long enough ladder with them.  They left material on the roof that blew off and damaged the neighbors property.  They did a bad job putting down peel and stick on.  I had to complain to the owner several times. He ultimately did come out and address the issues, but their performance really eroded my confidence in them.  Now I have a lot of anxiety that my new expensive home will have roof leaks in a few short years. In hindsight I wish I had spent a few dollars more to have the piece of mind of Thunder Bay's quality.

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

Neglected maintenance can lead to odors, fire hazards, impaired airflow, and reduced range and hood operation efficiency.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

Yes, with features like LED lighting and variable speed controls for efficiency.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.
