"The best piano movers in Atlanta. I’ve moved several times and tried several different moving and tuning companies. Pascal and his team were by far the best. They were extremely professional and were able to get the piano out of my old house with expert care. Upon getting to my new house they dealt with the more challenging entry stairs with the knowledge and experience he want as someone transports your 1000 pound baby. Once installed I quickly learned that Pascal is one of the most experienced piano tuners in Atlanta. He took extra time and my piano has never sounded so good. A 440 provides top quality service with reasonable pricing. They are clearly the best piano movers i’ve ever used."

"$3,719 & $1,535: Two locations, (Mass & Ft Myers). Both were packed on different days and delivered "all" on one day. They were all very cooperative with each other. I would highly recommend Ready-to-Move to anyone needing those services. Willie is the best!! So is Sam!! Helpers Matt, Brian, Emanuelle, Kato & Steve were great too."

"The guys moving me were great. Very polite and moved fast. I would rate them a 10! My only problem was miscommunication with the office. I thought that my move was in the morning and it was in the afternoon. Also, I didn't realize that it was cash only. Not having it on me really upset the gentlemen moving me. Over all it was a smooth move."

"I hired this company to help my daughter load her truck for relocation to Alabama, and they did an outstanding job. She informed me that everything was packed well and did not move or fall over while driving. I would hire them again as it was money well spent. This company used a visible technique, and it was well worth it."

"All in all, I am most satisfied with the handling, courtesy and professionalism of the movers and the prompt way the company comes in to guide the move.  I rate them highly especially if you have valuable items but you better have deep pockets.

I was a bit concerned that even though pricing was gone over several times.  The a la carte type services kept going. Miscommunication came in paying for the truck as though it were a person after paying for it to drive to and from a location and gas.  Also, the truck should have been bigger given the size of the furniture.  Had we not decided to wrap and load in U-Haul trucks ourselves this.  The open-endedness of the cost was unnerving.

"The 3 men, Charles, Matt and Terrance did a great job of moving our heavy furniture. They were very careful to protect the furniture before moving it. They worked hard in the heat of the day. When unloading the furniture at the new house they put it where we wanted it. They set up the bed frame and mattresses. Thank you for a job well done!"

Piano Moving FAQs, answered by experts

Movers calculate a moving estimate through various methods, including flat fees, estimated weight, amount of space taken up in the moving truck, or a combination. Read the estimate carefully, including parts of the contract that cover mover liability, how and when movers arrive, and other information. The best estimates include an itemized list with fees for fuel, especially large items, packing and unpacking, storage services, and more.

Some companies offer supplies like dollies and furniture pads for an additional fee. Confirm availability when renting.

The average cost to hire professional movers is approximately $1,700, but the total price can range from as low as $920 to over $12,000 depending on the move's complexity. For local moves, typically under 100 miles, costs generally fall between $920 and $2,530. Long-distance moves are more expensive, with prices ranging from $2,700 to $10,000 or more.

Several key factors influence the final cost:

  • Distance and Home Size: The mileage of the move and the size of your home.

  • Number of Movers: Hourly rates can range from $25 to $50 for one or two movers, increasing to $100 to $200 for a team of four or more.

  • Services: Additional services like packing, unpacking, and storage will add to the cost.

  • Specialty Items: Moving large or delicate items such as pianos, vehicles, or large aquariums incurs extra charges.

  • Timing and Access: The time of year, your specific moving date, and the ease of access to your home can affect rates.

Don’t forget to account for other potential costs like moving supplies and tipping your movers.

A reasonable moving budget for local moves is $880 to $2,540 , while you can expect long-distance moves to cost between $2,700 to $10,000 , depending on distance, house size, and other cost factors. You can calculate your relocation budget by totaling the cost of your moving services, such as renting a moving truck, hiring professional movers, and packing services.

Plastic bins are excellent alternatives to moving boxes. They’re more durable than the traditional cardboard. Have any unused suitcases? Those can make for great storage solutions for your long-term needs. Avoid plastic bags or anything that doesn’t allow for breathability.
